Goddamn Suspicious!

Today is the day.

After knowing Tao for 2 months, I think now is the right time.

I was pacing anxiously near the bench located in a secluded area behind our faculty's building as I thought about how I should form my words when Tao comes to me later.

I'd invited him over and I wanted to confess to him. After crushing on him for about 2 months, from the first day I met him, I wanted to let him know how I feel.

He'd always been really kind and friendly to me. His bright smile, his warm gestures, and even his goofy behaviors, everything about him just attracts me in ways that I don't think are even possible. Every day I felt like my heart was about to burst when I see him, I felt giddy when I talk to him and I felt elated when we spent together on our own every weekend.

After all of these, I am fairly sure that I'm in love, with him.

I cleared my throat as I looked ahead, pretending that Tao is right in front of me, "Tao, I..."

Just say it.

I sighed when the words I'd thought about a billion times in my head couldn't leave my lips.

"Tao, I-I..."

Come on.

I defeatedly sat on the bench, rubbing my face hard as I grunted frustratedly.

What am I gonna do? Can I even confess to Tao like this?

"Kong." I lifted my head when I heard the familiar name. Squinting my eyes slightly, I found two familiar figures standing under a tree.

"You're finally here." I saw Mr. Kongpob smiling rather gleefully at the lab assistant and stepped forward, opening both of his arms.

"What are you doing?" The lab assistant backed away, looking at Mr. Kongpob suspiciously.

"Oh, you don't want it?"

"Want what?"

"A hug, of course." Mr. Kongpob answered, stepping closer to the lab assistant and I saw the latter's face resembling a red ripe tomato.

"N-nope." The lab assistant kept backing away until his back hits on a tree and he winced a little in pain. Noticing that, Mr. Kongpob dropped his teasing manner and instantly went to the lab assistant.

"Hey, you alright? I didn't mean to do that." He said, his hand rubbing on the lab assistant's back to ease its pain.

"It's alright, it wasn't your fault." The lab assistant said, almost in a whisper as he pushed Mr. Kongpob's hand, "Why did you suddenly want to meet me here? I thought we'll be meeting at your place after classes."

"I wanted to see you."

"But... it's only been 2 hours, Kongpob. Don't you have classes in a while? Won't you be late?" The lab assistant was fidgeting with his fingers as he mumbled before lifting his gaze to look into Mr. Kongpob's eyes.

These two are so GODDAMN SUSPICIOUS!

With the conversations between them, the gestures, the shy smiles and blushes from the lab assistant, and the teasing looks and sly smirks from Mr. Kongpob.

There must be something between them.

I was going to eavesdrop and stalk them even more, when I felt a tap on my shoulder and I swiftly turned, just to see Tao standing behind me.

"What are you looking at?" He said as he looked around.

He's here! He's really here!

"I-I, no-nothing. You... You finally came, Tao."

"Sorry that I'm a little late." He smile apologetically while scratching the back of his neck, " I was supposed to arrive earlier but I bumped into a senior from the Student Council just now."

I nodded my head when I heard him mentioning his senior from the Student Council. Tao is a probationary member of the Student Council of our department. He's dedicated to completing his tasks assigned by seniors as he wants to prove himself worthy to be a part of that association. To be a member of the Student Council of our department is no joke, it is really tough as the seniors will be giving out tasks to probationary members as tests so that they could recruit the best members and not the ones that would be slacking off after getting the membership.

"It's okay, Tao. I'm happy that you're here." The corner of his lips curved into a smile when he heard my words.

"So... why did you want to meet me here?."

"I..." This is it. You need to tell him how you feel.

"Tao-"

"Arthit!" My words stopped when I heard Mr. Kongpob and I instantly turned to look at the duo under the tree and saw the lab assistant a few feet away from our lecturer.

"It's... it's Mr. Kongpob." I heard Tao whisper and I hummed as a reply.

"I'll see you later." The lab assistant said as he quickened his pace, a small but beaming smile formed on his lips and I saw Mr. Kongpob staring at his retreating back with an equally glowing grin.

"The two of them... they looked like-"

"Lovesick fools." I said as I look at Mr. Kongpob clutching his hand over his chest and his smile grew even brighter every second.

"Our friends, they said I looked like a lovesick fool too when I'm around you." I heard him say and I whipped my head to look at him.

"W-What do you mean?"

"I... I like you." He said, almost inaudibly and I could feel my heart flip in joy when I heard the word 'like'.

"R-really?"

"I thought I was already really obvious." He replied the tip of his ears adorned with pink hues.

"I..." I stared at him, my heart still racing, "I like you too."

"I know." He said, chuckling softly.

"You knew?"

"I've always been looking at you, you should know that." I could feel my cheeks burning when he said that, "And I heard you saying you like me when you were drunk about a month ago. Now, you have even invited me to meet up behind our faculty building. Don't you know that this is a secret spot for couples if they want to do something naughty?"

His voice, was mellow and deep, as he tapped on the tip of my nose, and his gaze was soft while he stare at me like I'm the one who held his heart.

"So... wanna be my boyfriend?"

I nodded dumbly and before I could comprehend what was actually happening, I was pulled into a warm embrace and led into a chaste kiss that makes my heart soar with happiness.
