A FEW WEEKS had passed since the Spencer Mansion incident and Adela still didn't really know how to cope with everything had happened. Her moving away from Raccoon City was a fresh start, a new chapter. No longer would she be reminded of the tragedies and heartbreak she endured while on her time with the S.T.A.R.S. team. She wouldn't have to deal with Chief Irons and his corrupt ideals. She wouldn't have to deal with Umbrella running everything. From medical agencies to orphanages. Adela Ramirez was done with it all.

All she wanted to do was leave and start a new life. Unfortunately Jill, Barry and Chris weren't added to that equation. If she was going to start over, she had to do it right. It was going to be difficult though. After everything they've been through, Adela felt more attached to them than ever. They were the only ones to survive that traumatic experience at the Spencer Mansion. Every friend or ally they had were dead.

Adela couldn't lie when she said that was going to miss Jill. In fact, she didn't know what she was going to do without her. Leaving Raccoon City meant that she was ending whatever she had with Jill. God did she love that woman. From the moment she met Jill, she felt so fucking special with her. She made her feel wanted and loved, something she hadn't felt after she left home. She'd do anything to relive the moment she met Jill again.

Adela grabbed her back pack, heading towards the front door of her apartment. She took a look around at the empty home, now lacking any soul she had put into it before. It was time to move on. This was a good thing. At least she hoped it was.

Adela made her way into the elevator, quickly making her way out of the building once she made it. She glanced at the movers truck before making her way to the car. She was about to enter the car when she heard a voice calling her name.

"Adela! Wait up!"

Adela snapped her head at the sound, her heart aching when she saw Jill jogging over to the woman. Shit. Why did she have to show up? This was just making everything harder.

Jill rushed over, a blue book in her hands. "Shit, I'm glad I caught you on time. I thought you left already." She huffed, handing her the book. "You left this last time you visited... I know that was months ago but... I just thought you'd want it." She shrugged.

Adela raised an eyebrow, opening her book. She hadn't remembered bringing a book to Jill's place at all. In fact, she didn't really read that much. Adela read but she wasn't an active reader. If this was a tactic for Jill to be in her company for a bit, she was wrong.

Adela didn't push her book away. She opened the passenger door, placing the book and her back pack into the passenger seat.

"Thanks." She mumbled, closing the door. She began to make her way to the driver's door, only to be stopped. Jill had her hand wrapped around her wrist and tears in her eyes.

"That's it? You're just gonna run away? Leave me here?" Jill scoffed, shaking her head. "I thought we were good. I thought we'd be able to talk before you left." She sniffled, her bottom lip trembling.

Adela froze up, hesitantly snatching her arm away from Jill's grip. "Don't do this, Valentine. Don't fucking do this to me." She spoke lowly. "You had the past two months to speak to me and you didn't. Not even a call or a visit." She stated.

"I-I didn't mean to... I was just—"

"Just what, Jill?" Adela interrupted, tears welling in her own eyes as well. "Y-you were dealing with your trauma? Well, so was I! We could've done all of this together... and you didn't even—" Adela interrupted herself, crying harshly.

"Delly..." Jill looked around before cupping Adela's face in her hands. "I was scared... I knew that if we spent time together, I'd miss you even more when you left." She whispered shakily. "I couldn't let you leave without me saying goodbye."

Adela let out a whimper, moving away from Jill. "I think it's best we leave it at that... our story ended at that mansion. Seeing each other would be detrimental to both of us."

Those words struck Jill hard, her heart breaking even more. Everything they had before that damn mansion was just gone. No more sleepovers, no more coffee dates, no more anything. Jill had ruined everything. She had no one to blame but herself.

The two stood in silence before Adela pulled her into a tight hug. "Thank you for everything, Valentine." Adela muttered. She placed a soft kiss on Jill's cheek, placing a hand on her face gently.

Jill just stood there, leaning into her touch as tears fell from her face. Fuck, this hurt like hell.

"Ma'am, are you ready to go?" One of the movers asked Adela.

Adela nodded, making her way into her car afterwards. Jill moved onto the sidewalk, watching Adela get into her car. This all hurt . She didn't want her to go. Why couldn't Jill just go with her? Why couldn't she leave too?

Once Adela was in and buckled up, she rolled the passenger window down. "Take care of yourself, Jill." She gave her a small smile, driving off afterwards.

Jill watched as Adela's car disappeared off into the distance. "I love you, Delly."
