The gushing of blood was heard but sound didn't travel far in the midst of the thick forest.

The middle-aged man had a knife jabbed in his leg and could no longer run away from the already pissed off Maxine.

"Any last words?" She teased.

"P-Please don't do this! I have a family-"

"Oh come the fuck on, that's all you got?! At least make your last words interesting. Probably forced the 'family' out of the woman anyway." Maxine finally said and stabbed him in the heart three times, finishing him off.

She threw the sex-offender's body into a garbage bag, tied it up, and threw it into a river.

And then she looked across the river to find someone doing the exact same thing. They made eye contact for a second and out of anxiety and they both took off running in opposite directions.

Shit. Shit. Shit. She saw. She definitely saw that. What do I do?  Where do I go? Am I caught for good? Is my reign over? Do I kill myself?  No you fucking dumbass, that's way outta line... Maxine thought to herself.

Wait. She realized. She was doing the same thing.

Maxine ran back to find her. She was actually on the hunt for someone else in particular, but she wanted answers.

Having swam across the river, and ran for about thirty seonds, she found two sillouhettes. The girl and...

The man Maxine was looking for?

The girl had him cornered against two trees, with a gun to his head and talking to him, a tear escaping his eye.

Was she reminding him of what he did to get to this point? Probably. Did Maxine care? No.

Maxine ran over and drop kicked her to the ground.

"Hands off beautiful, I'm the one responsible for this man." Maxine teased as she retracted her right arm back, knife in hand, to stab the man, earning a punch from the girl.

"I got here first. Plus, he's been my target for a few days now and I've finally found him. And don't call me that." She retaliated.

They continued to argue and fight over the man, and he took this chance to try and escape. The girls turn their attention to the man only to find nobody. They saw bushes rustling in the distance and they immediately starting sprinting towards them.

"Shit!!" Maxine cursed.

"This is your fault. Try not to get in my way next time," the girl said to Maxine.

"Oh no, don't turn this onto me. You were the one who retaliated, my love. We could have worked together." Maxine said.

"YOU DROP KICKED ME!! And what did I say about calling me names?"

Maxine stopped running whilst the girl kept going. "I don't know, what did you say?" Maxine teased as she pounced, stabbed, and killed the almost-free man.

And the other girl was too busy worrying about and looking at Maxine that she didn't even see the man and ran square into a tree.

Maxine chuckled at her while pulling out another trash bag. "So naive."

"You distracted me!!! Stop acting cool because you're not, you literally embarrassed me! And don't you dare call me naive, I've probably been in this business longer than you have-"

"Bro's mad!" Maxine laughed. "And even if you have been in this business longer than I have, you're acting you haven't."

"You little-"

"Hey, hey. Chill out, I'm just teasing you. I'm not THAT egotistical." Maxine walked towards her until their bodies were a few inches apart. "Seriously though, you did great cornering him. Don't let something as trivial as words distract you, because as you can see, it can lead to the downfall of your plan, beautiful! Be more careful!" They looked in each other's eyes for a few seconds until the girl snapped out of it.

"I don't know what you're getting at, but I really don't care about what you have to say. Especially after you made me look like an idiot. And for the last time, don't call me that! I have a name." The girl said.

"I would love to know your name, beautiful." Maxine flirted.

"STOP CALLING ME- never mind. My name is Alice, NOT beautiful, so stop calling me that. Got it?"

"Alice. What a nice name. You're still beautiful, so I'll keep calling you that. Bye!" Maxine said as she ran off to where she came from.

"HEY COME- ...back." Alice sighed. "She's annoying." She also walked back to where she came from.

Hopefully I'll see her again.. Maxine thought as the flirtatious moment of silence between the two kept replaying in her head.
