"And that's the thing about people who mean what they say, they think everyone else does too."- unknown.

Something about today seemed different, I didn't know what it was though. There was something about the air outside, it wasn't cold nor warm. It felt right.
I was really tired though that's one thing I could be sure of. I had spend today at school and I was so keen to go home and go to sleep. I wonder if I'll be able to cope with being an actual nurse if school is already giving me so much grief.
As I was walking home I heard a car slow up besides me. When I turned around I realized it was Kings arrogant ass. I rolled my eyes when a smirk formed on his face. Oh lord give me strength.
"What's good AJ?" He asked with the smirk still plastered on his face. The smirk that made all the girls in the neighborhood swoon, but the sane smirk I had learned to see through.
"Hello King."I said simply not looking at him and continuing on with my journey home. He continued to drive besides me while he still had that smirk on his face.
"Let me give you a ride home Jay. Its a long way and I know you're tired from that look on your face." He said chuckling at the end. He was right, I was tired, extremely tired. But being in the same car as him made the walk home not seem so unbearable.
"No its fine, I can manage." I said with a strained fake smile as I tried to put more pep in my step to prove that I really was okay.
"Come on AJ, I don't bite. That is unless you want me to." He said biting his lip. I scoffed and roled my eyes, same old King just a different day.
"See this is exactly why-" he cut me off before I could carry on.
"Alright ma chill." He said chuckling slightly."My bad. Just let me give you a ride, I promise you won't regret it." He said with a genuine smile.
I looked him trying to decide whether I should take chances or not. I was tired, hungry and all fed up to walk all the way home. I decided to take my chances.
I walk to the passenger's side of his Jeep and opened the door and got myself situated. His car was clean and smelt of his cologne. I turned to face him as he pulled off. He had this smile on his face. I shook my head lightly and laughed a little.
"Did I miss something?" He asked taking his eyes off of the road for a second.
"Nah...its just..never mind" I said shaking my head again. "Thank you by the way." I said lowly while looking out the window.
"What is that I hear? Autumn James saying thank you? To me? This gotta be me lucky day." He said looking like he was genuinely excited. He looked at me flashing his million dollar smile.
I couldn't help but laugh at him being silly. The car passed a few kids playing and laughing, I smiled a little seeing how happy they were. I couldn't wait to have kids of my own one day."Remember when were younger and I always used to come over to your house and play hide seek, you were always hard to find." He said chuckling and reminiscing. I laughed remembering those days.
"No, you just didn't look hard enough." I said jokingly.
"Those days were the shit. I wonder what changed between us Jay." He said, his mood changing a little. He looked a bit sad, but I didn't feel sorry though. He's what happened to us.
