the holy book has laid on its shelf in the back of the library forgotten. dust has collected on its pages by now. one day, you found your way to the back of the library where the bible was kept.
your innocent eyes gazed along the books when they finally gazed upon the bible's bare cover. with gentle hands, you caress the spine of the bible. it has been a long time since you had read the scripture of god, so you pull the surprisingly hardcover bible off of its shelf. reading the bible was one of your favorite past times, yet now you can hardly find the opportunity to have some fun anymore.
you can tell it's been a while since this book had been touched. you blow off the dust, seeing the title "Holy Bible". you carry the book and sit down on a love seat in a remote corner of the dimly lit library. you smooth your fingers over the cover of the book, feelings its leathery texture. you open the bible, already bending the spine, to the book of Ezekiel. you fondle the thick pages, feeling around the edges. you've been in need of righteous condemnation.
you anxiously start reading: "When she carried on her whoring so openly and flaunted her nakedness, I turned in disgust from her, as I had turned in disgust from her sister. Yet she increased her whoring, remembering the days of her youth when she played the whore in the land of Egypt and lusted after her lovers there, whose members were like those of donkeys, and whose issue was like that of horses. Thus you longed for the lewdness of your youth when the Egyptians handled your bosom and pressed your young breasts." (Ezekiel 23:18-21).
this was one of your favorite passages. it reminded you that you're not in your youth like you used to be, so it is inappropriate to flaunt your body to others. it reminded you to be celibate. a wave of satisfaction came over you as you thought about this passage and the lessons from the book of Ezekiel, and you let out a sigh of comfort and relief.
you fingered through some more pages, desperately wanting to taint the pages with the juice of a pen, but unfortunately, you could not as it was a library book. you find annotating the bible extremely exhilarating and fun, and it gave you great pleasure to make your mark on the book of god. well... it had been untouched for a while... and no one seemed to want to read the bible from a library anymore...
you gave in, biting your lip, and took out your pen. you fumbled through the rough pages, roughly thrusting your pen onto the pages to scribble your thoughts, underline sentences, and question words you were unfamiliar with. you would mumble, moan, and groan as you wrote your words on the pages. by the time you had finished 3 rounds of annotating, you were breathless and your hand ached from the strain of writing so viciously. you laid back, letting your body relax, with the book still in your lap.
you hear footsteps coming your way. were you being too loud? could someone have heard you? you roughly slam the bible closed and shove it under your skirt to hide the fact that you had defaced such a thing in a library. a young woman, the library assistant, dressed in a modest dress that showed off her bosom came around the corner. maybe she should stop whoring herself around like the woman in the book of Ezekiel.
"excuse me miss, are you alright? you seem a bit distressed..." she asked you.
"u-uhm... i'm alright... j-just relaxing," you reply as you shift the book between your legs.
"Alright then..." the woman says as she leaves you and disappears behind an aisle.
that was close you thought as you lifted your skirt to retrieve the book. since it was already annotated and no one would seem to miss the bible... would it hurt to take it home with you and have some more fun?
