"I swear to god- what is that?"
Interrupted from their morning walk to school, [Name] glanced up at a towering man with a mutant quirk stood atop a bridge, holding a purse.
"Oh. A villain?" "Looks like it, purse snatching scum." She heard a few passers by mumbling, and turned to her friend to make a comment.
"Do you think- and he's gone." [Name] rolled her eyes and shuffled through the crowd, following Midoriya who had undoubtedly tried to get closer to the heroes.
"Another fanboy huh?" She heard a kindly old man joke, and she hummed in satisfaction, having located him. As they nattered about heroes and then notebooks, she turned her attention to the heroes before them.
Backdraft, a semi-well-known hero was keeping the crowd safe, with his quirk. She smiled a tad seeing Kamui Woods, a much more popular hero confront the villain, readying his signature attack.
"Oh."
He never got a chance to use it though, seeing as a giant lady(?) charged in before he had the opportunity. The villain successfully taken care of, she turned around to drop the worst one-liner [Name] had heard all week, and people began to disperse.
"Sure is something, huh?" She stood besides her timid friend, who nodded eagerly. "Yeah, I've never seen that hero before! Let's see, she's obviously strong due to her size, though she caused some damage as well. And small spaces would render her useless, so maybe..."
[Name] drowned out Midoriya's mumbling and muttering in favour of forging ahead. He squeaked in surprise seeing her walk off without him, and followed after her, scribbling as they went.
-
Aldera Junior high, or as [Name] called it, 'a box of asshats'. She tolerated very few people in her class, due to their obnoxious behaviour and cruel remarks towards her friend.
"They're training to be heroes," she argued. "so why are they so mean?"
Sitting there quietly in class, she wasn't really focused too much until she heard the teacher mention U.A. 'Doesn't Izuku want to go there?'
"We've got two students trying for U.A this year. Bakugou and [L. Name] right?" [Name] sunk into her seat slightly, letting the attention fall on Bakugou as he bragged about how far ahead of everyone he was.
Why did she hang around that guy again?
"Oh that's right, Midoriya is trying out too." The teacher stated, and instant silence filled the classroom, before laughter rang out.
"You know you need a quirk to get in right Deku?" "A-actually they changed that rule..! I can still get in if I try..." The bell rang, and [Name] at once rushed to Midoriya's desk.
"Leave him alone, Bakugou. He's not worth the trouble." She stated quietly, all of them standing now.
"Hit the road, chicken wing." He hissed, and his lackeys grabbed her and yanked her aside. "Oi!"
[Name] watched in sheer frustration as he shoved Midoriya around, before snatching his notebook and throwing it out the window. He sauntered out, though not before telling him to 'take a swan dive off a roof' and his jackasses followed, dropping [Name].
"Hey, I'm sorry I couldn't do anything. Are you okay?" She rushed over to the trembling Midoriya and patted him on the shoulder, which seemed to calm him down.
"I'm gonna try to find your notebook and give that hedgehog a piece of my mind. Take a break, or head out without me- I'll see you soon." She declared, and rushed out of the classroom.
Taking the slightly less than legal way out of the building by flying off a balcony was quick, and [Name] was able to catch up pretty quickly to Bakugou and co.
"Hey, blondie!" She ran over, and he turned, annoyed. "The hell do you want?" "You- what the hell is your problem, man?! Back in the classroom??" She marched over, and instead of shoving him, she simply stood there, annoyed.
"He was pissing me off, pulling a stunt like that. Damn Deku..." He growled, and [Name] elbowed him. "I said don't call him that around me. Anyway, where's his notebook?"
He shrugged, and began walking. "Dunno, piece of crap is probably in the bottom of a pond. It's what he deserves." He grinned and stretched, much to the chagrin of [Name].
"Okay Mr Grumpy, but that was seriously uncalled for. You were doing well, as well! Just another month or two and we're done here. You'll be in separate classes if either of you get in, and-" "Hey, you seriously think Deku will get in?? Have some common sense, chicken." Bakugou scoffed.
"Oi, he's got a chance of getting in. I sincerely hope I'm in his class and not yours..." "Oh yeah, you were applying too? Why?" [Name] shrugged, and they turned to an alleyway, slouching against a wall.
"Because of Izuku, maybe. I'm still mulling it over." "Yeah well you better not ruin my chances of-" He froze mid-sentence and [Name] spun around, worried.
"What the fuck is that?!" She yelled, and activated her quirk as a precaution. Gorgeous amber flames leapt from her wings, and she outstretched them, taking step backwards.
"Oh, someone's got spark! You'll do nicely, girl."
A large mound of sludge with a face lunged at them, trying to gran [Name] as she was closer. "Bakugou, a little help please!"
She yelled, using her wings to defend herself.
"Ugh, fire. I can't use that, as useful as you may be, so let's just get rid of you!!" It yelled, and shoved [Name] into a wall. "Now there's a quirk I can use! Keep still boy, it'll make this easier for the both of us."
Through the fuzzy spots in her vision, [Name] glanced up to see a blurry villain trying to take over Bakugou, like a parasite.
'Fuuuuck, can't move....' She crumpled to the floor, dead weight and let the sound of explosions fade away, along with the sight of red shoes sprinting past...
-
"Miss [L. Name] is awake, step back everyone." She awoke with a start, fresh air pumping through her lungs now instead of the smoke.
"What- the villain, where..?" "Hah, calm down young lass. You went through quite the ordeal there." It was a hero, several actually, seemingly taking care of the situation.
"I see. Hey, is Bakugou okay?" "The explosive kid? Yeah, he's alright. Wait- you really shouldn't move so suddenly miss!" "I'm alright, thanks for everything."
Ignoring the heroes warnings, [Name] stepped over to a little clear spot, having seen something.
"All Might is here??"
She grinned, thinking of how much Midoriya would fanboy if he could see his idol, and then turned to go home.
'If that's what being a hero is like then I'm not sure I really want any part of it.'
