It seems to be a ordinary day for Class 1-A. I can hear all of the chatter from outside the door. Aizawa-sensei told me to head to class first but not to enter yet. As I wait, inside the classroom I notice a taller student with glasses. I remember him from the sports festival. I think his name was Tenya Idia. I watch as Iida went to the front of classroom and collects the class's attention, "Everyone! It is almost time for class. Please take your seats!" He raises his arm up and then straightens it out in front of him, stiff as a board.
The class groaned. "Iida, we are already seated." A girl who is completely pink says, more cheerful than the rest of the class. I peek in and see that the class is indeed seated. I guess he's the Class Representative and it seems like he takes his job a little too seriously.
"Right! Thank you for your cooperation" He formally says and returns to his own seat. I giggle as the class continues to quietly chit-chat before Aizawa-sensei comes.
"You must be Chi." I hear a voice say from over my shoulder. I jump and quickly turn to see a girl with long black, wavy hair smile at me with her warm emerald eyes. "My name is Fuuka Shuzenji. I'm the T.A. for class 1-A. Mr. Aizawa told me to head over first and see if you found the classroom." She looked me up and down and I step back and quickly meet the wall. She seems super friendly, someone I'm not used to engaging with. "It doesn't seem like you're going to run away. That's good." She smiled an even bigger smile. "I'm going to head in. It was nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too..." I quietly trail off. She gives a little wave and heads into the classroom. I peek in again to see her go to the boy with the red and white hair, Shoto Todoroki. I watch as she interacts with him, feeling a little envious because she is so easily able to talk to him. Watching him at the Sport's Festival truly inspired me and made me want to apply to UA. A blonde haired boy suddenly caught my attention as I see him turn to look at Fuuka and Todoroki. He was the one who won the Sports Festival, Bakugo. I scrunch up my face, slightly annoyed by his arrogance and slightly jealous because of his power and battle prowess. Looking back over the class, I notice that I saw everyone in the sports festival except for Fuuka. I wonder why she didn't participate. I think to myself. Who is she?
"Chi, are you ready?" Aizawa-sensei asks, sneaking up on me out of nowhere. I squeak as I grab my heart and spin around. Twice in just a few minutes. I really should be more aware of my surroundings. He ignores my squeak and without even waiting for a reply, he walks through the door. "Quiet down. I have an announcement to make." He said with no emotion. It seems as if this were an annoying task for him or something. I sweatdrop. I sigh, I think I'm going to have a hard time with him. "Even though it's close to the end of the first term, I have a new student to introduce." He pauses and looks over at me. "Come on, we don't have all day." He announces to me in the hallway.
I take a deep breath and enter the classroom. I am so nervous that I keep my head down and feel my fists clench into the sides of my skirt. Silence rings as I am frozen in place. Aizawa-sensei sighs and flatly says, "Introduce yourself." He sounds even more irritated.
I squeeze my eyes shut and take a deep breath. I bow and race through my introduction.
"My name is Chiri Hogo. You can call me Chi. I am 15 years old. My quirk is..." I turn red, as I raise my head and realize all eyes are on me, "barrier." I finish quietly.
I see the messy, green haired boy looking at me with wide eyes. I can see the mental gears begin to turn in his eyes as I tense up. He probably wants to ask me all sorts of questions. Then I notice that the T.A. Fuuka had moved from the back row where Todoroki sits and saw her repositioned on the windowsill.
Aizawa-sensei clears his throat. "That's what we are calling it for now. We still don't have a lot of information on Chi's quirk," he turns his head towards me, "but we will eventually figure it out." His words almost felt warm as soon as he finished speaking. He turns back to the class. "Have a seat at the back of the room." I nod and bowed again. I hurriedly take my seat in the back of the class, right behind the girl with the zero gravity quirk. What was her name? Ochako? I question, getting more nervous as I take my seat. "Alright, let's get back to class now." The rest of the morning classes went by rapidly, feeling lost as they blasted through the lessons with ease.
Lunchtime comes and I slump forward onto my desk. I'm exhausted.
"Um, hello there." I hear a voice speaking to me. I look up to find the girl with a sweet smile and pink cheeks looking right back at me. "My name is Ochako Uraraka. You can call me Ochako though." She smiled. "It's lunchtime, would you like to eat lunch with me?"
I watch as she scoots her chair back. "Um, sure. Thank you." I stand.
"Ribbit, mind if I join too?" The girl with frog-like appearance stood next to Ochako and cocks her head to the side.
"Um... sure if you don't mind." Ochako asks me as I nervously look between the two girls. I nod, grateful they asked to eat lunch with me. I wasn't sure if I would have been okay going to the cafeteria by myself.
"My name's Tsuyu Asui. Just call me Tsu." She smiles as her tongue stuck out of her mouth. I nod back with a smile. Ochako then leads us to the cafeteria, chatting along the way. We grab a tray of food and then find a seat near one end of the cafeteria.
"Gosh! It is always so crowded in here!" She cried as we sat down, with Idia and Deku joining us.
"It really does seem busier today." Idia said matter-of-fact-like. "Excuse my manners! My name is Tenya Iida. I am the class representative of Class 1-A."
He extended his hand out to me. I shook his hand. "N-nice to meet you. I'm Chiri Hogo. You c-can call me Chi."
"Nice to meet you too! Please let me know if you have any issues or need help with anything. As Class Representative, it is my duty to help out and guide my fellow students." He proudly states as his glasses reflect the lights.
Deku looks over at me as I begin to eat my lunch. "I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself either. Hi, I'm Izuku Midoriya. Everyone calls me Deku." He smiled a huge grin at me. Just then another boy joined the table. Todoroki sat down and looked at me. Deku says quickly, "And this is Shoto Todoroki."
I look over and Todoroki looks back, giving a slight nod and says, "Nice to meet you."
"Likewise." I nod self-consciously to both of them. My cheeks turn pink as I continue to eat my lunch. I can't believe I am eating lunch on the first day of school with the top people at UA, let alone with Todoroki. This is beyond my wildest dreams! My heart skips a beat when Todoroki and I make eye-contact. Thankfully the rest of my classmates start talking about classes and I quietly listen, not sure how to contribute to the conversation.
My nerves subside slightly as the excitement runs a little rampant in my heart. It feels so strange to be surrounded by such inviting and welcoming people. I for sure thought that they would ask a million questions about me and my quirk but they held off. I'm sure they didn't want to drive me away with the bombardment of attention and curiosity.
Between the lively chatter and my nerves, lunch flew by so fast that the next thing I knew, we were back in the classroom and Aizawa-sensei stands in the front about to announce the activities for the afternoon classes. "Everyone get changed, we are heading to one of the training grounds." He then grins, looking right at me. His sinister smile sends chills down my spine. I have a bad feeling about this. "Get ready, because you're about to see a new quirk at work today." My heart sinks. I don't want to be put in the spotlight like this. Especially on my first day. I want to cry and hide as I feel the whole class's eyes on me.
