Present Day...

Giggles rose from inside the classroom.

I stood here with this woman you called a teacher.

"Ma',am your son needs a father, he's very closed off to the boys, he doesn't act the way he should," the teacher folded her hands in front of her.

I was ready to curse at her but I had to be and adult in this situation.

"I think I can manage on my own Mrs. Ashley," I smiled gently.

"Ma'am your son-"

"I don't need you to tell me how to raise my child if I don't tell you how to raise yours," I hiss. Who was she to tell me how to raise my child?

"I don't have children but-"

"That all the reason more you should worry about your damn self, now can you go get my son," I glanced at my watch," your going to make us late."

"Right," she murmured and walked back into her class with a heavy sigh.

She had a lot of nerve. A woman with no children trying to tell me how to raise my child. I scoffed with disbelief.

I ran a hand through my now blonde wolfcut.

I had made it my mission to to do the opposite of what Vito liked. I had lived less fancy. I got job to support me and my son. I had gotten a simple apartment and a simple car.

I tried to do everything simple. I wore jeans and a T-shirt everywhere.

I did an whole 180° on life. Did I miss my fancy, rich life? Hell yes, but I'm doing this for the safety of my son.

"Mamá" Brunos' voice interrupted my thoughts.

I looked up and grinned as he ran up to me. "Hi, baby," I picked him up and hugged his little body to mine.

"We've got somewhere exciting to go today," I let him slip down and stand on his own.

He jumped up and down slightly.

"To my Kung Fu tryouts," he said giddly.

"Si," I nodded and held my hand out to him.

He took it and I couldn't stop the swell of love in my heart from the feeling of his tiny hand in mine.

He was already to my belly button, and I knew he was going to have his fathers height. He even looked like him.

The insanely curly hair I kept back into a bun, the almond shaped hazel eyes and even the same lip shape. He had my button nose and small ears.

Brunos' teacher was standing at the door with a grim look.

"Adiós," I didn't wave at the teacher but Bruno did as we walked away.

"You did good baby," i placed an ice pack on Brunos' forehead.

"No, mamá, i fell to many times, and the other kids are stronger than me," he whined.

I smiled. "Just because their built like heffas doesn't mean they are stronger than you," I pinched his cheek.

He giggled.

"The more you practice, the better you will get," I declared.

He nodded.

With a huff I picked him up and carried him to the shower.

He needed a bath after his class.

Once I was in the bathroom I set the water temperature for him and let the tub start filling up. "What scent do you want," I pointed to the bath bombs.

"Hmmm," he grinned while tapping his chin with a tiny finger.

He waddled over nakedly and began picking up some to smell through the plastic wrapping.

"This one," he held up a bluish purple one.

No doubt about it it was Blue Raspberry.

"Alright, get in," I waved him a away.
He quickly got into the water and sat.

"The water feels good," he swished his fingers in it.

I nodded. He liked hot water like me. I tried to get him to take cooler baths but he wouldn't put more than a single toe in the water if it wasn't hot.

I finished unwrapping the bath bomb and set it aside so I could wash his hair first.

I turned his back to me and let his hair from it holder.

His small curls came tumbling to the top of his shoulders.

"Your hair looks so pretty," I cooed.

He wiggled his shoulders.

While I got his shampoo and conditioner from the cabinet he grabbed his spider man toy from the little toy hanger in the back of the tub.

I had drilled it into the wall so I didn't have to keep drying them off before putting them in his room.

In stead they say in the basket and air dried, and he had easy access to.

"Alright be still," I demand him as I got his little cup from the basket and filled it with water si I could wet his hair.

As his head tilted back I ran my fingers through his curls and made sure they were drenched.

I uses a simple comb detangler to comb through then added shampoo and gently scrubbed his scalp.

He made an ahhing sound as I gently pulled the comb through.

"You know, Bru, you can always try something different if you don't want to do Kung Fu," I eyed the bump on his head.

"I like Kung Fu, mamà," he said.

"I know I'm just telling you if you change your mind," I started rinceing his hair.

"Ok," he raised his spider man in the air.

"It would be cool to have powers like The Amazing Spiderman," he pumped his arms like he was shooting webs.

I laughed. "Yeah it would."

I quickly finished his hair and let him have the bath bomb.

"Make sure you wrince well and empty the tub, I'll go fix dinner," I said.

He nodded and I left down stairs.

When I got into the kitchen I pulled the pack of ground beef from the fridge and all I needed to make tacos.

Bruno prefers the tortillas over the hard ones like me.

I ate an hard shell once in my life and it was the last after I had gotten a piece of it stabbed into my gum.

It hurt like bitch too.

All I had to do was finish this then clean up and it was bedtime.
