At late noon, after having lunch, Keshav went into his patient's room again. Vaanmathi was laying on the bed like a fetus inside a mother's womb.

Heeding the door opening sound, Vaanmathi divided her eyelids and quirked her head to witness who the invader was. Upon acknowledging that it was her doctor, she sat on the bed and smiled at him.

She was really smiling a lot nowadays. And all credit to her doctor, Keshav.

"Had food?" He raised his eyebrows as he settled himself in the chair. "Yes, doctor...I had a lot actually." Keshav nodded at her reply.

"Um...doctor, did you find out who drew that picture?" Keshav gazed into her eyes intently, eliciting unusual feelings to precipitate inside Vaanmathi's lower stomach. She disregarded the sensation. The girl was not used to such amorous things till now.

"It must have been done by you when you weren't in your sanity" Vaanmathi blinked her eyes.

"Okay...but is it plausible for me to draw someone I haven't met?" Keshav shook his head, negatively.

"It isn't Vaanmathi, and I was wondering how you had done it" Keshav replied honestly. "Maybe I knew you from my past life" Vaanmathi joked and giggled.

Keshav laughed slightly. He was not a believer in those myths. Only If he knew.

"Doctor..." Vaanmathi called, unsurely.

"Yes" her doctor responded, calm as ever. "Do you believe in ghosts?" Vaanmathi quizzed in a low voice, leaning a bit closer to Keshav.

"They aren't real" Vaanmathi hummed at his answer. "How do you know it's not real doctor?" Keshav shrugged at her query and conceded, "There was never a reason for me to believe it's real"

"Understandable...but you know what, I believe in ghosts. I often see a black shadow crossing here and there." Vaanmathi waved her hand from right to left, expressing her statement.

It was because of her mental illness she's been witnessing those. Keshav bit his tongue to suppress the comment. He didn't want to hurt his patient.

"That is why I'm here in this asylum, isn't that right doctor." It wasn't a qualm that required a reply. She was aware of her situation.

"Well, but I can assure you that I have got the power to shoo those shadows away" Keshav brightened Vaanmathi's saddened face. "Oh, really?" She heaved her eyebrows up, with a smile.

"Of course and have you gotten any bad dreams today?" Vaanmathi shook her head. "Not at all, doctor. But just my eyes hurts often" The witch inward her was done invading Vaanmathi's emotional aspect. Meaning, she won't be having many horrible dreams, or hallucinations anymore.

However, the upcoming days would be more painful for Vaanmathi to endure. Because she would be undergoing certain integral changes in her physical characteristics from now on. This is the final stage of Vaanmathi's conversion into the witch and it would be achieved on the day of the next full moon, June 19.

"Does it hurt right now?" At Keshav's concern, Vaanmathi grabbed her doctor's hand and pressed his fingers around her eye area. The scorching heat there made Keshav bemused.

Keshav retracted his hands, perplexed."We should meet an ophthalmologist! This isn't normal" Keshav was shocked and confused of how Vaanmathi could tolerate it.

"Olalmo...what?" Vaanmathi frowned. Keshav tried his hard not to smile but he could not contain it. "Eye doctor" he clarified.

"Oh...it's okay doctor. It will go away. If it doesn't, then I will definitely inform you and we can go and meet that olalamo...something" she giggled.

Keshav smiled again.

"Then doctor...how old are you?" Vaanmathi squinted her eyes and attempted to examine Keshav's id. Her eyes became bulged as she learned his age. "You are 36 ah!?" Her mouth stayed open at the new information.

"Yes I'm...now close your mouth" he slanted on the chair saying that. Vaanmathi abruptly sealed her lips. "You look so young...I thought you were 24.." she pouted.

Keshav remained hush. He was very acquainted with such reactions. People had always misinterpreted his age as a youth.

Not minding the silence of Keshav, Vaanmathi continued. "So, how many children do you have?" Keshav choked on his own spittle at the unexpected question. Okay...none had asked that. It caught him off guard.

"I'm unmarried" he stated after he had steadied himself. "Why doctor? You are already 36! And in five years you will be 41....and let's add another five, you will be 46! Then you will be prone to hair fall, wrinkled skin, and many other disadvantages. Then who will marry you?" Keshav opened his mouth to answer but closed it when he did not find anything reasonable.

She was right. But he had never liked anyone...

"Well, it's not late now either doctor. You look really handsome now so try to marry within two years." Vaanmathi smiled, delightedly.

Keshav stared at her, into her eyes, deeply...then he burst into laughter.

Vaanmathi's stomach twisted, seeing him.

A new bond began to grow between them as they spent their time conversing with each other.
