Outsider Book Jacket + Alive Process

To commemorate the ending of Outsider, I made a Book Jacket for fun. 

I also started on the Alive rewrite for real, but the cover is really giving me more trouble than the story somehow aslkdjals 

The Outsider book cover is one I made a long time ago and it was pretty solid, so I never felt the need to change it. It just works. Revamping it for a book jacket still works pretty well. 

Alive's rewrite has gone through countless amounts of cover changes, from long before it was written, I've always used it as a practice cover. So, actually making it stumped me for a very, very long time. I knew I wanted playing cards in it, and I kinda wanted to do a silhouette thing to reflect Drew. It's not until the latest cover that I decided to actually give her a proper spot in the cover. I think the current cover looks best for the concept I'm trying to portray. 

This cover goes out of my usual cover style and theme on my profile, but I was never satisfied with the others, so this is what I ended up with. Going for a simple background instead of my usual blended ones really did the trick. 

The green string was honestly a whimsical decision, but it's probably one of my favourite parts of the cover now. Second only to the cut in the fonts. I thought it was too plain as it was, but then somehow I thought to cut it through to make that usual iconic lowercase i, and I never want to change it ever again. It's just exactly what it needs. 

I made Banners for LiVES as a callback to the original and Outsider, but I quite like how they turned out. It's just lorem ipsum in th ebackground.
