Madeline Volkov and Nep Volkov walked down the 7th-floor corridor, standing before the abandoned wall. They disappeared into it as soon as the door appeared. The room was plush and comfy enough to have a reunion.
"I've wanted to have this talk since I arrived here," Madeline told Nep. Nephthys smiled softly, a deep sadness erupted in her chest as she hugged the younger version of her mother, the version she remembered very well.
"I knew you were mine, from the minute I saw you, "Madeline spoke with sorrowful happiness.
"I missed you mum," Nep told her. Nephthys Lilith Volkov, hugged her mother tightly, trying to imprint every small thing about her. She tried to remember the last time she had felt so satisfied and fulfilled; Sirius made her feel like that, but a small part of her heart was always empty. An emptiness, that could not be fulfilled by Sirius.
"So I succeeded, huh?"
"Sadly," Nep whispered, as a tear went down her cheeks. Madeline, pulled apart from the hug, looking at her future daughter with a small smile, she gently wiped the tear away. Pressing a kiss against Nep's head, she spoke:
"It was necessary - it is necessary.- I love you Nep, even if I give birth to you in the future, I love you now - I will always love you- I'm sorry you grew up without a mother. I regret not seeing my beautiful princess, grow into an enchanting queen. But I do not and will not regret sacrificing myself to save my family; my friends."
Nephthys started crying harder, letting out years of sorrow and pain, as she saw the treasure Madeline Sierra Volkov was, the treasure that the Royal House of Volkov lost all those years ago.
"Now, stop crying, love. You have no right to tell me anything when you have done so many stupid things- brave and selfless, but stupid nonetheless. I want to hear everyone one of your near-death experiences, and from what I've learned those are a lot."
Nephthys let out a hearty laugh, looking at her mother's expectant eyes, she started telling all those experiences.
Madeline listened with her full attention, inserting quirky and sarcastic comments when necessary, and terrifying warnings to Nep to 'never do something so stupid ever again.' She even cursed the person who hurt her precious daughter, during those adventures.
