It wasn't a good day. Work had practically killed you, not to mention that you lot a bet with your friends. You knew they would never let go of that fact. Now all you wanted to to hundle up and cry. But you know you had to do something else before you could do that. Today was the new season quest from Assembly. You let out a long sigh and dragged yourself through the portal to the Hidden Forest.
The light blinded you, but it quickly faded to reveal the calmed social area. You saw some Chibis messing around the campfire. Two we're trying on some new capes and the others were roosting marshmallows over the campfire in the center. You trudged your way around them, desperately hoping they don't spot you. All you wanted to do was to get to the Assembly Treehouse and be done with it.
You made your way through the small tunnels, the fires of the candles around you danced in the shadows as the rain continued to pour down. You shivered as you felt the light get drained from your core. You lifted your head to see the amazing sight of the Assembly's Treehouse. The entrance gaping wide open, waiting for you to come in. You let out a sigh of relief when you saw the house. This place had been an escape for you, a place to leave reality, even for just a moment. It felt like you could be a kid...
"Y/N!!"
You spotted a spirit in the entrance, It was Assembly himself!  You two had been friends since you two could remember.
"Hey Assembly, what's the quest for today?" You said with an almost dull tone. You were exhausted from today.
"The quest? That's not Important right now"
"What.. do you mean? The quests are practically the most important part of the season!" Assembly picked up immediately on your bad mood.
"I mean, look at you. Your eye bags are showing, quick to anger, and you have that look on your face. You look miserable. I know you, something in wrong and I'm not letting you go until your better."
You sighed once again, there was no getting out of this. You walked into the Treehouse, sopping wet from the rain. You took off your cape and set next to the fire. You were quickly joined by Assembly.
"Now, what happened.?"
"Nothing much. Work has been kicking my ass, lost a bet, and I'm just tired."
You leaned over and rested your head on Assembly's shoulder. He reached up and layer his hand on your head.
"It's ok, we all have those days."
A comfortable silence washed over you two as you watched the flames curl and twist. You nuzzled your face deeper into friends shoulder, closing your eyes. Honestly you didn't know what to call him, everything felt different as of late. You felt your chest tense up with him around, your heart would just explode with emotions just at the thought of him, and you had even had been imagining you and him together sometimes.
It felt right, all of this felt like this is how it was supposed to be. You, Assembly, and calmness of the rain fall.
You didn't realize that while you were lost in thought, you had been snuggling closer and closer to Assembly. But you didn't have the energy to care anymore. You closed your eyes again, and drifted off to sleep.
It was just what you needed.
