"Once the Rhabdovirus enters and penetrates the brain. The only thing that's left to do is to wait."

"When doctors see the symptoms, there is nothing they can do." The professor added.

The lecture room was in the state of muteness. Everyone was still.

A lionhearted student lifted her hand, with confidence and mischievousmess written all over her face.

"What about Jeanna Giese?" She asked.

The professor's eyebrow rose and twitched as he signals her to stand up and state her concern. "What about her, Miss Hearth?".

"Well if you weren't ignorant and used technology for once, you would have learned about her. Milwaukee protocol, Sir." She taunted.

Everybody in the room were in great awe. They couldn't believe that a silent, eccentric student had such attitude.

The professor's face turned antsy and serious.

This little 'know-it-all' brat is challenging me, he thought.

"State the protocol, Miss Hearth." He ordered with his patience level near at peak. He crosses his arms, keeping his posture upstraight and sturdy to declare dominance.

She's fucked, everybody thought.

"Well, I usually don't speak up, I would have sent you the link of a Wikipedia article but, I rather state it raw to you, because I had enough of your nagging about us not reading 'your' book. So now let me turn the tables."

She clears her throat and takes swift short breaths.

"Jeanna Giese was an unfortunate rabies victim. She was bitten by a bat as it took flight off her hand. She wasn't given any anti-rabies vaccine aftermath, and the wound was just cleansed with H2O2 or what common people call 'Hydrogen Peroxide'. Her condition came to a point where there is no return, she was gravely ill. Until Milwaukee Protocol was proposed."

Everybody was stunned.

"It was developed by Rodney Willoughby, Jr., M.D.; It's an experimental course of treatment of an infection of rabies in human being. The treatment involves putting the patient into a chemically induced coma and administration of antiviral drugs, following the successful treatment of Jeanna Giese." She added.

The professor flicks an eyebrow.

"If it 'technically' cures rabies, why is it not proposed?" He asked confidently.

She smirks and chortles. "Very observant, Sir, but like what I said, It's experimental. There's no assurance it'll place the same effect in everybody."

"Then why share such story?" He questioned. With confident twirling in each letter.

She shook her shoulders and smiled. "Because everybody knows it, and you don't."

Ferocious and outraged. The slur slowly nipping off his patience, engulfs it entirely.

He slams his book on his table and stared at her wide eyed. "Scoot out, Miss Hearth and see me after class."

Annoyed, she loudly marches out of the room.

A guy lounged on the floor, leaning against the door of the neighbouring classroom smirks at her.

"I'm guessing you got kicked out too?"

He's not far from experiencing the same shitty day as she did.

"Milwaukee Protocol?" He asked.

She nodded, "Jinx."

"I'm Lucas Gale, and thee?" He asks as he fishes out a tickler and begins to scribble things on it.

"Elle Hearth.. Literature?" She asked.

He shook his head and turned to her. smiling. "Psychology. Elegant name, Miss Hearth."

Her freckled cheeks flushed scarlet; her knees were trembling like a block of jello. "Please call me Elle."

She perched next to him, glancing at his work.

"Here, look."

This guy with artistic leaning tore a page and wrote a set of different words.

Force, Power, Control, Command, Order, Resist, Accept, Deny, Grip, Hold.

He nudges at her.

"So which word caught your attention?" He questioned.

"Resist."

His lips curved into a smile. "That's riveting."
