"Your Highness, everything is all set and ready as per your instructions." A man with Chestnut brown hair and dashing amber colored eyes addressed the Crown Prince.
"Splendid work I say Charleston, now might I remind you to not call me 'Your Highness'? It is as if we weren't friends since in diapers."
The man chuckled and rolled his eyes "Might I also remind you 'Your Highness' that, that is what you call a royal protocol. Scratch the title and shit but once in the palace better yet, surrounded by officials, calling you by your name might lead to the fall of my head."
The Crown Prince rolled his eyes at Charleston "You and that 'Royal Protocol'. I wouldn't be shocked if you suddenly say you'll marry it"
"I apologize but I love my mate just the way she is."
As the two were catching up with this and that, a voice called, stopping tem from Thier conversation.
"Charleston!"
They both turned to see a blonde petite woman with beautiful green orbs. She stood infront of Charles as she gave him a hug. Her mirroring him made her even more petite, just by barely reaching his shoulder. Charleston then moved his hand to her waist in a protective hold, indicating that she belonged to him and no other.
As if remembering his presence, the woman then turned to the Crown Prince as she curtsied "Your Highness"
The man groaned as he eyed the couple "For the last time, call you please call me Luther?" He said emphasizing the word 'please'.
"Sorry, Your Highness but no can do. We value our heads just as we value our friendship." The couple chuckled.
The annoyed Luther grumpily said "What brings you here Valerie?"
Remembering why she was here at the first place, Valerie's playful aura suddenly became a serious one. "I've got what you had asked me to"
Charles raised a brow before he gasped. He then eyed Luther as he indicated them to follow.
As the settled in a room out from the prying eyes of the guards, Valerie continued.
"So, as I was saying this is the list of all mateless females attending the ball tonight. That includes the Vampires aswell. From low ranking to the highest. Their age, and biographies are also included."
Charleston eyed his mate suspiciously "How come you know all these?"
Valerie shrugged "I have my ways."
"Why the vampires?" Charles asked
"Because-"
"Because there is a ninety percent rate that she could be a vampire. I have been in every corners of our kingdom, I had visited ever packs and I still haven't found my mate. Which theoretically speaking, her, if possible, being a vampire." Luther explained cutting of Valerie who gave him a glare.
Charleston nodded his head and upon realization on something his eyes went wide. "Won't this become a conflict though?"
Valerie scrunched her nose "What in heavens do you mean?"
"What I mean is that, if, just if your theory is correct about her being a vampire. What would you do?"
Luther eyed Charleston as he gave him a small soft smile "I don't care whether she be a vampire, a fae be it a witch or a human, I would still devote my life to her, to love her till the ends of earth."
Valerie smiled as Charleston nodded "Yes, let's say that. But won't it cause a conflict to bother royal families though? Much worst the Empire and Kingdom?"
