I am autism.
You think I am broken, but I am strong.
You think I am scared, but I am dauntless.
You tried to erase me, but I will not be silenced.
I am the woman that speaks her mind,
I am the boy whose love is gender blind.
I am the kid full of creativity, the one who has the great ideas,
I am the girl who dreams of equality, who doesn't give into her fears.
I am the man not ashamed to have tears,
I am the person that is timeless, my soul cannot be defined by years.
Where you seek order, chaos whispers my name.
Where you seek mayhem, I wish for peace.
I am intuition,
I am passion.
I am kindness,
I crave equality and peace.
You think I'm defective,
But your perception of me is deceptive.
For I am radical, I am rebellion.
I am new ideas in a world that longs for change.
I seek to gift kindness to those oppressed.
But for my neurotype, I am told others know best.
I will not be silenced,
Or told who I can and cannot love.
I will not be fixed, for I am not broken.
Social rules will not make me conform
Aren't rules made to be broken?
