It was the first day of karate training. Johnny had told the Diaz siblings to meet him at a dojo that he had rented out asap the next day. So this is where the story starts, in the new Cobra Kai dojo.
''So am I going to get the karate pyjamas, too-'' Miguel says cutting the awkward silence.
''Quiet!'' Johnny shouts making Miguel jump. Camila began to snicker at her brother's antics, ''The student only speaks when spoken to. Is that understood?''
''Uh, yes... Yes sir?'' Miguel responds uncertainly.
''You will always address me as "Sensei," is that understood?'' Johnny looks at them both.
''Yes, Sensei!" They both respond.
''Oh and stupid they aren't pyjamas, it's called a gi,'' Camila smirks as her brother looks at her confused.
''Smart girl,'' Johnny points at her before flipping Miguel on the floor making him land on his back. Camila starts laughing before being tripped up on the floor by Johnny doing a leg sweep, ''there will be no laughing in this dojo Miss. Diaz, This is lesson one, strike first. Never wait for the enemy to attack.''
''Yes, Sensei.'' Camila gets up in pain.
''You could have given us, like, a warning.'' Miguel puts his hand on his chest as he just got winded pretty badly.
''We do not train to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak. Here on the street, in competition,'' Johnny continues talking as Miguel whips out his inhaler the siblings were both quite unfortunate when it came to medical problems as Miguel had a case of bad Asthma and Camila had really bad diabetes, she also had a really bad stroke when she was in school over in Riverside, ''a man confronts you, he is the enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy. What is the problem, Mr Diaz?''
''There's no problem, Sensei. You punched me, and I have asthma, so-'' Johnny snatches his inhaler and throws it against the wall causing it to break, Camila raises her brows at the action.
''Am I supposed to just stop having diabetes as well-''
''We do not allow weakness in this dojo. So you can leave your asthma, peanut allergies and stupid blood pressure problems and all that other made-up bullshit outside. Is that understood?'' The twins didn't know but Johnny made a mental note of their medical problems just in case.
''Yes, but those are real medical problems. I was-'' Johnnny gave Miguel a look, ''yes, Sensei, understood.''
''Cobra Kai isn't just about karate. It's about a way of life. Take that first lesson. Striking first is the initial step towards victory. Okay, like when you're at a party and you see a hot babe,'' Johnny turns to Camila, ''or dude.''
