Chapter 35: Just?

"WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP?!" He yelled as I look at him in a dumbfounded way. I then tilted my head to the side.

"You were sleeping peacefully so I didn't bother." I plainly explained as he scratch the back of his head. "Besides I'm sure you'll make fun of me once you're awake."

"Well, it's already dark, c'mon I'll send you home." He stood up from the bench, and pick his phone up. I look at him walk away as I couldn't help but to tremble. That phone, told me the truth...

If he's a play boy, he wouldn't bother to have a girl's photo in her phone.

But... why?

"Yukidiot! C'mon you're shivering!" he uttered a little annoyed as I stood up from the bench.

"Coming~!" I skip toward his direction. Following his tracks.

I hate this guy... why do I have to know the truth with things are going complicated?

"Nat I'm home!" At least my fluffy white cat can welcome me at my hard times. But, no... back then, once the door creaks open she'd welcome me. Where's my fluffy white cat?

I walk forward.

"Hey, Yukidiot."

I lose something.

"Yukino...?"

It's winter again...

"Yukino."

Why indeed do I hate this season.

"Yukino!"

I then kneeled in front of a cat bed in the kitchen, there lies my dearest cat... dead...

"I lose something again..." My tears fell as I held the cat tightly. "She's gone..."

"Yukino, it's just a cat."

"SHE'S NOT JUST CAT!" I cried. "Even she's not a person, even if you tell me she can't understand me! She's always there for me! She's always by my side! She's unlike father! She's unlike brother! She's unlike mother! She's unlike you who left me in miseries!"

I was just too angry, Just? Nat is more than that! She's not just a cat...

I then notice Haizaki-senpai, kneeling before me, he took the cat in my arms as I wa about to protest. "C'mon, let's give this friend of yours a decent burial."

I wipe my tears away, is this his way of apologizing this time? I was snapped back into reality as I then heard a little meow. I look back into the cat bed to see a tiny feline. I came to realize, this feline must be...

"Se-senpai... during this season, this kitten won't survive..." I uttered caressing the young feline, lifting it up. It looks so fragile... as if it'll die sooner or later...

"It will survive, I swear!" he uttered, somehow lifting my mood up as I embrace the kitten. Can this feline really survive?

Senpai then buried Nat at the side of my house, I couldn't let go of the kitten as I embrace it tightly, wanting it to feel warm. I continued petting it as it later fell asleep. Somehow, I manage to smile looking at the young feline.

"What will you name i- I mean him?" he grinned.

"Him?"

"It's actually already a few weeks old, that's enough to know it's gender, and yet you cried for your cat so I presume you love her but you didn't know she's pregnant or has given birth... it's a he Yukidiot." He uttered pissing me off a little.

"Shut up!" I uttered looking away as he chuckled. Why didn't I know? Well the sheets of the cat bed is white, the cat to, is white! With me being frustrated lately maybe it was hard for me to notice.

"So tell me, What do you wish to name him?" he grinned as I face him pulling a smile.

"Yui!" Slightly named after winter, Yuki... maybe, it's about time to blame winter for these miseries I've been through. What's winter's fault anyway?

Well maybe I'm wrong...

The door of my house slammed open as the ever cold breeze entered the house. What on earth?! Is it storming already? Haizaki then manage to shut it down as he lock it somehow stopping the snow from entering.

His phone rang shortly afterward. He pick it up as he seem to press the button lazily as he leaned it near his ears. "He-"

"SHUGO!" the phone spoke as he turned in on, it was on loud speaker as he move away from his ears I blink looking at him. "WHERE ARE YOU!? ARE YOU ALRIGHT!? IT'S STORMING! ARE YOU SAFE!? DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE STAYING ON YOUR 100TH GIRLFRIEND'S HOUSE!!!"

100th?!

"Sheeesh... Aniki, I'm alright." He grinned as he scratch the back of his head. "I only got 13 girlfriends so far don't go that far!"

13 for me is still too many... Wait? Am I the 13th one? I must be very unlucky then... T^T

"So where are you now?" He gulp as he scratch his cheeks with his index finger.

"I'm with my friend, she insisted for me to stay since she's--"

"SHE?! YOU BETTER NOT DO ANYTHI-" He ended the call. I can imagine the other line saying hello again and again from the point on. Whoever it was, I pity him... it's obvious through the call that one is a guy.

"Who was that?"

"My brother."

"Arah, I envy you." I smiled at him as he chuckled.

"Older brothers are annoying." He complained as he sat beside me.

"I know right, though he seems kinder than you are though..." I teased him.

"Well he is a wonderful brother, even he's a little annoying..." I heard him yawn as before I notice it, he was fast asleep. I wrap the cat with a towel after I made it drink a tiny amount of milk, I place him on a cat bed as I went to take a sheet from upstairs. I later covered him up with those thick blankets of mine opening to the fact there's a great snow storm outside.

"Good night Yui, Senpai..."

Things come and go, but the memories will remain. With Yui around I will never forget Nat.

And with Haizaki acting kind and all?

My feelings for him will never fade...
