She had a perfect family loving parents, a middle class family, but when her mom died when she was 6 from a heart failure, her life turned upside down, her father, Angelo hated her, believing it was her fault his wife died. He became an alcoholic, coming home with a new girl on her arms every night, not caring about his used to be beloved daughter.
But Malaya still believed that her father still loved her and maybe someday he'll change but the thing is, he didn't and he never will.
When Malaya was growing up she had to fend for herself, she had to cook for her and her father and clean up her fathers mess every morning so she wouldn't be called "Useless" everytime.
she moved a soon a she can after she turned 18 and worked hard enough to get a scholarship and a job at the same time. She still hasn't spoken with her dad since she moved out.
After years of struggle as a working student, she finally became who she's longing to be, someone independent, that doesn't give up easily.
Later on her life she finds out she's a lesbian, being open about it she got switched to different presincs.

The name Malaya is girl's name of Filipino origin meaning "free".

FANFICTION This is the story, where the badass detective cop Rosa Diaz, met the soon to be love her life, through an undercover mission; Malaya, the newly transfered detective after 10 years of working for different presinc, she got assigned to the 99th presinc.
She quickly got assigned to a mission, due to her abilities and skills.
What she didn't expect about the mission is that she'll quickly fall in love with her "mission buddy" as she said, "Question?..." is will Mal confess her feeling to the certain detective?, Or will she hide her feelings under the covers, forcing her self to eat the feelings she wanted to express.
She completely diagnosed herself as someone who has a major trust issues, afraid that they'll be betraying like her father did to her.
Mal knows it's always have been her father fault she has this issues, But still she Forces her self to believe that it was always her fault, cause on her point of view she will always be the problem.
And what she didn't know is that Rosa Diaz is about to change that perspectives.
