Needless to say, that Neal wasn't expecting a visitor this morning when he was sitting on the couch with his dog listening to something on the telly while trying to dry off his hair with a towel
-Canvas, your place! Neal yelled whisper to the English Spaniel beside him when he heard a knock on the door, way too soon followed by a "-Morning" from a Peter who clearly didn't have his morning coffee, and most probably had a rough night working on a case at home. Luckily the dog bed was in his room, behind his own bed.
-You smell like wet dog. Peter commented like he didn't just almost gave Neal a heart attack by knocking on the door and not waiting for an answer to come in.
-Yeah, I got caught by the rain this morning. Responded Neal still trying to quickly dry his hair because he forgot to take his umbrella when he went on his walk with Canvas. When I went on a coffee run, got one for you too, it's one the table.
-How generous of you... Peter tone was screaming suspicious
-Gotta' care for my favorite FBI agent. Neal was now looking himself in the mirror trying his best to get his hair to look at least almost normal
-Yeah, okay we're going to need to get on the road if we don't want to be late
-Let me just grab my vest and I'll be ready. He would have to style his hair a bit more in the car, and they should be alright

Neal was sitting in the grass with Canvas, both panting a bit after having runed like crazy together on the soccer field to burn out some of the energy they both accumulated being stuck at home almost all week, apart some quick errant and some walks. When he decided to check his phone, just to be sure. And it was apparently a good idea because he saw three missed calls from Peter and another oncoming one, so of course he answered.
-Neal answer when am calling you!
-My phone was in silent mode I didn't know you called. What's going on?
-Neal, if you're planning something, I will find out what it is. You shouldn't be out at such an hour, especially so close to the end of your radius
-What do you mean I shouldn't be out at such an hour, last time I checked I was allowed to go wherever I wanted within my radius at any time, my radius is short, there's a lot of places that are close to the end of it. Am allowed to do whatever I want outside of work hour, as long as it doesn't include anything considered a crime of course...
-I don't want to but I will give you a night curfew if I need to, if you take advantage of the freedom, we give you to do anything criminal with Mozzie, or alone or with anyone else-
-Peter relax, I was just doing a night walk, you know take some fresh air before going to bed?
-You're better be telling the truth, I'll see you on Monday. And on that he hung up
-What... Well, Darling, we better get going if we don't want me to get in trouble... Hopefully we'll be able to come back tomorrow during the day, if there aren't too many people...
He got up, grabbed Canvas leash and they went home, Caffrey was disappointed, expecting to stay at the field longer, it was one of the only places in his radius that was clean yet empty most of the time, especially at night. And that had good lightning, perfect for insomnia walk. Also in a pretty residential place, where it's not too dangerous to walk at night, something rare to find in central New-York.

-You have dog fur on your pants. Peter commented after a while of being sit as his desk with Neal-who-can't-sit-still-to-save-his-life Caffrey still unable to sit still of course
