Chapter 5 - Training

Y/n's POV:

A woman exits her house and screams "My begonias!" She shouts. "Get out of my flower bed, you little termites!" I smile knowing who that voice belongs to.

"Hi, Abuelita!" Missy and I say in sync while waving at her.
"Missy, Y/n! Come and say hello to your grandma!" She says and I smile and giggle slightly.

"No way!" Noodle shout shocked. "Your grandmother's Anita Moreno?"
"The trainer of the Heroics?" Rewind says.
"Didn't you notice the last name" I say to him.
"Not really" he replies. "But, she's a legend." Facemaker adds in.
"No, you have to be dead to be a legend, honey." She tells Facemaker.

Missy and I hug her together and smile. "Oh, mi amor." She says hugging both of us.

"I'm alive and well, which is more than I can say for my gazebo, hmm?" She says looking at all of us.
"Sorry." A Capella says raising an hand.

"We're in trouble grandma, and we need a place to hide." Missy says.
"To hide? You're gonna need to do a lot more than that." Grandma says. "That thing is moving into position." She says pointing at the mother ship.

"She's right. We only have two hour left." Wheels announces. "Won't be long now until the takeover begins."
"Everybody, get inside. Come, come." She says, "Come."

One by one we enter grandma's house and sit at the dining table.

Abuelita pours all of us a glass of lemonade handing Missy and I a cup each.
"But we're children." Rewind says.
"Yes, the children of the Heroics." She announces. "If anyone is gonna save the world, it's you, because all of you have superpowers."

"Not all of us" i say quietly looking down at the ground. Wild Card obviously heard me and brushes his foot on mine lightly, comforting me.

"Super lame powers" Facemaker adds
"Speak for yourself." He turns to Facemaker.
"Ok, Johnny random." Rewind says.

"Hmm... this is no way to be a super team." Abuelita says.

"Abuelita's right." Missy speaks up also standing.
"Aliens are about to invade, and if we want to rescue our parents and save the planet..." I continue standing up as well.
"We're gonna need to do it now." Missy finishes.

"Are you saying that..." A Capella starts "We can be super heroes."
"Well, yeah." I say
"I guess that kinda is what we are saying." Missy says sitting down.

"We can be heroes, just for one day!" A Capella sings, "Sorry, it was there for the taking." She adds.

"I need you all, to maximize your powers." Abuelita says.
"Grandma, I've been trying to do that my whole life, so if you have any ideas, I'm all ears" Wild Card says. Behind him, Facemaker makes his ears big and from the angle some of us are on it look like he has big ears.

Wild Card turns around to see Facemaker pretty close behind and everyone laughs as Facemaker moves away smirking.

"Um, it's not about who is the strongest or fastest. It's about working together, and that's why we'll need someone to be the leader." Abuelita says.
