Minutes passed as Grace walked next to Daryl as they walked away from the camp.
She didn't know how long they would be away from camp but was prepared for a week away from camp.
"Do ya not talk no more?" asked Daryl after thirty minutes of walking in perfect science.
"No, I just thought you would tell me to shut up so I didn't bother," she said softly before smiling softly.
"Whatcha mean?" he asked.
"You started distancing yourself and now you treat me like you treat everyone else in camp," she said.
"What do ya want from me then?" he asked.
"Nothing.
Your company is enough" she said.
"You ain't gonna lecture me or beg for some pathetic apology?" he said as he started to forget that she was like most women.
Grace was always simple and calm which is why he liked her.
"Not today," she said.
They then walked twenty minutes in silence again before Grace saw a herd of walkers.
There were about twenty and they all were rushing for them.
She got out her knife.
"Make an openin and leave the rest," said Daryl.
"They'll follow us.
Ten each then we can keep walking" said Grace.
"Fine, just don't take more than you can goddamn chew," he said.
She smiled softly before stabbing a walker in the face.
She then stabbed one after the other quickly causing Daryl to lose focus before being grabbed by a walker.
He tried pushing it off before scratching himself on a broken fence.
He cursed before killing the walkers quickly.
He looked at her gash before walking to Grace.
She stabbed the last walker before looking at him out of breath.
"Are you alright?" she asked as she cleaned her knife on the walker's shirt before putting it back in her jeans.
"Yea" he said before walking away hiding his blood staining his sleeveless shirt from Grace and himself.
He was too stubborn to have her burn the wound before walking again.
Grace walked up to him as they quickly walked away from the walkers.
"There's a barn near ere'.
If we keep walking we can stay low there" said Daryl.
"Just lead the way," she said.
"Watcha mean?" he asked.
"I'm saying that i'll follow you wherever you go because I trust you.
If you wanted to kill me you would have done it already" she said.
He looked at her and felt himself go soft.
To know she trusted him after the things she's seen him do while in the camp made him feel weak at the knees.
"Ya trust me?" he asked.
"Yes," she said as she felt blood rush to her face as her heart rushed in her chest.
He was the most attractive man she had ever seen in her eyes.
She enjoyed how animalistic and angry he was as that was Daryl and she enjoyed everything about him.
They continued walking as Grace bit her lip.
She was incredibly happy from being able to be alone with Daryl.
All she wanted for him was to know he didn't hate her and him hating her was worse than death.
She was glad to have the Daryl she built a friendship with back.
She didn't expect anything bad to happen as they continued walking together towards the barn.
