I didn't pay much attention to the students who were talking about Remus. My cage was on the small table  so I could look outside. I never rode this train, and it was exciting. Remus even bought me candy to eat when we got there. I spent the most time watching the hills go by. And soon, the landscape was getting dark. A bad feeling grew in my stomach when the window started to frost. I made as much noise as possible to alert the others of danger.

The train got darker, and the feeling of despair filled the air. Me and the students sat in silence as a dementor lurked into the cabin. My small bird for froze in terror, hoping the creature wouldn't recognize me. But instead it singled out one of the boys. It began to take the kid's happiness. But Remus was on his feet in an instant, shouting a spell and getting rid of the creature. He knocked my cage over in the process, though. The boy laided there for a few minutes.

"Harry, mate, wake up."

the ginger one said while lightly shaking him. Remus picked up my cage and let me out. "Are you okay, Cal? I'm sorry for knocking you over. " I gave him a nod and jumped to his shoulder.

The boy called Harry soon woke up. He asked if they heard a  woman scream. Nobody did, Remus gave him some chocolate to help with the after effects of the dementor. The two of us left soon after. When we were out of earshot of the trio, Remus began to cry.

"Harry looks just like hais parents."

That boy with the glasses was Harry Potter? We made our way quickly to the luggage car. Where not very stealthily, Sirius was hiding. When we entered, his tail was poking out from behind some chests. I flew over and landed on it.  The big black dog sat up, and as soon as he saw the tear, he shifted back to a human. "Moony?" The werewolf was in his arms instantly.
"I saw him pads, prongs son."
Remus explained everything that happened. "Why would those bastards go after Harry? Cal and I were here the whole time. "

The pair kept talking, and I must have fallen asleep a few minutes later. When I awoke, Remus was picking me up.  Students were getting off, and the cabin was empty when we returned for his luggage. The man slipped his coat and hat back on, grabbed his suit case, and my cage. "Time to get back in Cal, I don't want you to get lost in the giant place." I flew back in, and he locked the door.

We waited a little longer for more students to get out before we left. A very tall bearded man showed us to a carriage, a weird horse like creature was pulling it. No one else noticed except for me and Remus. "Still using thestrials Hagrid?" The man smiled, "yes Professor Lupin, still are." When Remus was seated, the carriage began to move. It was me and Remus in the carriage. He must have seen me staring at the creature. "Only those who have seen death can see these beautiful creatures."

I couldn't stop looking at everything around us. It was amazing. It really felt  like the storybooks the nanny would read to me. It just sucks that I have to be a bird and not a student. The carriage stopped in front of the castle, and the werewolf got out, and a house elf appeared. "Blinky will take your things to your room, sir. An' the wee bird. " Remus nodded and handed everything over."I will be back soon. " he gave me a look. I was soon in Remus' chamber by myself, not like I can get out of a locked cage, so I slept some more.

"Cal....Calum, I brought you some food."  I stretched my wings out as I woke, Remus had the cage door open and a plate of food at the small table in his room. I shifted back to human for. "Yes, food time." Lupin laughed as I ran to the table. It was a bunch of different things, even treacle trart. I began to shove food into my mouth, so much better than prison food....when they decided to feed us, that is. The man let out a laugh, "Slow down, boy. "

I could feel my face heat up from embarrassment. "Sorry, I got excited." Remus patted me on my head. "It's fine kiddo, just slow down." I nodded and continued eating.

Belly full, I sprawled out on the floor. The most food I have eaten in a long time. Remus looked at me with a smile. He had been unpacking while I ate. "Calum, I have a question." He walks past arms filled with textbooks. "Do you want me to teach you?" I sat up, I don't really have much of an education. I did basic schooling for a few years before I was forced into the deatheaters. My mother and the nanny taught me simple spells, the death eaters taught me evil spells. It would be nice to know more. "Please teach me." The werewolf nodded. The older man pulled out a book and some parchment rolls and a quill pen and  ink pot. "Come over to the table."

I stood and made my way over, taking a seat in the chair. "You don't have a wand nor can use one yet, they would find you in and instant." The man settled in to the chair next to me. "So we will just focus on incantations, and I will show you what they would do." We sat at the table for a few hrs before Remus made me go to bed. He gave me the bed and slept in the arm chair by the fire place
