I awoke to an ice cold chill across my skin. Dirt tracking underneath my fingernails as I felt for my bed. A jolt of electricity jumped me out of my drowsy state being aware of that fact I awoke in a forest. The trees were the deepest shade of black. The forest was misty. Thin clouds of fog hovering above my feet. Where was I? How did I get here? As I prayed for answers, I froze completely.
"I know what you need..."
I was terrified. I know now that I wasn't alone. The voice was deep. Raspy. Echoing through out the forest as if the voice was in a million places at once. Whoever it was, it was aware of me.
"I know what you want..."
The voice grew closer. Sounding as if it was right behind me. I headed for cover, hiding behind a bush keeping my head as low as I could. Staying in place, I held my mouth shut.
"I know what you're looking for..."
I ran. Deep into the woods. I didn't care where I went, I just wanted to get away. Hiding behind a tree, curling into a ball, I prayed to myself. I quietly prayed as I clenched onto my cross necklace hoping for a miracle. Hoping to get out alive.
"This I can give you...."
"Go away please.." I whispered. "Go away..." I wanted to scream. I wanted to scream as loud as I could, but it felt as if something was holding me back. Staring down the dirt path road, I could only see as far as a few feet thanks to the fog. A figure stood in the mist.
Tall, about 6 feet. He simply stood in the fog. He saw me. My heart was racing. Anxiety overflowing. Blood pumping and adrenaline rushing. I kept quiet. Holding my mouth closed to avoid making noise, I closed my eyes as he came closer. Footsteps approaching me with each step he took. A few seconds later, the footsteps stop.
He was right behind me.
I stayed in place, refusing to move. I looked down to the sight of what looked like black smoke approaching me from behind the tree. Without warning, the voice approached my ear.
"Come with me..."
I barrel rolled away from the smoke, running into the mist. I ran and ran nearly to the point where I was going to pass out at any second. The voice following me as if it was nothing.
"Come with me..."
With every step I took, drained me more and more but I couldn't bear the risk of being killed by whoever wanted me. After running for what seemed like a loop through the woods, I had unfortunately gave in to my loss of breath. Stopping to recharge and recollect my stamina, I had notice that the forest itself was ominously quiet. No wind blew, the voice had disappeared, and the only noise was the sound of my feet rubbing against the dirt.
Goosebumps making themselves welcome. Looking back and forth, nothing was here. As if nothing existed. Until I looked up. I couldn't scream. I couldn't move. All I could do was tremble as I stared into his soulless black dilated eyes.
There he was. Dressed in a deep black hoodie with the hood itself extended upwards. Black cargo pants and shoes to match. His skin nearly ghost white. A roman numeral seven etched in between his eyebrows.
Gazing up at the cliff to him, he simply watched and stared. "Who are you?" He didn't speak, let alone blink. Only watched me. "What do you want?" No response. After a few more seconds, he walked away out of sight.
Taking this opportunity, I slowly began to step back, only to bump into him a few seconds later. "Shit!" I panicked, falling into the dirt, scooting away from him as he approached me slowly. "Get away from me!" Placing his finger over my lips, he brushed the hair away from my eyes as he looked into my eyes.
