Chapter 8

Tournament Day

The tournament was held in another arena, in a larger arena in downtown Seoul. Of course Jungkook and Namjoon could watch the tournament, because the tournament was held during the day so they still had time to watch it before work, while Irene and Jisoo could only watch it from the TV.

One by one the athletes entered the arena to introduce themselves, Jungkook sat in the best position, he could see clearly at the arena.

The first athlete to perform was Ken, Jungkook was amazed to see him, he rarely saw Ken practice because he always came home earlier than other athletes. So it was Jungkook's first time seeing Ken perform and it was really good.

They are divided into several categories, according to the difficulty level of their movement and in the last category, or the category with the highest difficulty level, there is only 1 candidate from South Korea, it's Jin. He had to fight athletes from other countries.

Jungkook was very nervous when he heard Jin's name being called to enter the arena. The cheers from the audience were also very domineering at that time.

When Jin entered the arena in his black costume, the whole room fell silent. the spotlight only focused on Jin, the ice prince from South Korea. All eyes were only on him. Jin looks small in the middle of the arena, Jungkook's eyes don't dare to blink, he doesn't want to spend a second to see Jin.

And when he started to move, a smile appeared on Jungkook's face, maybe not just on his face, but on all the faces of the audience there.

He feels proud of every move that Jin makes but when he does jumps, a move that many people look forward to, a move that always gets a perfect score from the judges. Jin failed. He fell and it made everyone there stand up from their seats including Jungkook, he saw Jin whimpering in pain and several people entered the arena to carry him out.

"No, this can't be happening" Namjoon said.

"What do you mean hyung?"

"That's the same thing that happened to Jennie, before the doctor told her not to be an athlete anymore"

"W-what?" Without realizing it, Jungkook's eyes started to tear up. He was devastated to hear what Namjoon said, he saw Jin practicing every day until morning, enjoying his every move and the beauty of his body as he glided. But today he saw clearly the look on Jin's face in pain and he kept holding his ankles.

Jin was immediately taken to the hospital, he was with Mr. Lee and his coach.

"Please I want to return to the arena"

"Are you crazy? no Jin, that's enough, I told you, you'd be tired if you keep practicing until morning but you don't listen to me, I'm worried about your feet, I hope it doesn't end up like Jennie"

Jin just kept crying in the ambulance, he regretted not being able to land perfectly like he did before, he was really tired and his body wasn't as fit as usual.

Jungkook and Namjoon went back to work, Jungkook kept thinking about what might have happened to Jin.

"Hyung"

"What's wrong Jungkook?"

"Will Jin be okay?"

"I don't know, I'm also worried, I'm sure everyone is worried, fans are always looking forward to this tournament so they can see Jin in the arena again"

"What if the same thing happened? what if he-"

"Jungkook, calm down, he will be fine, Mr. Lee will definitely say something if something bad happens to him, I hope we will never hear such a bad thing" Jungkook just nodded, without realizing his tears were flowing down his cheeks, he afraid.
