You Deserve

"What the hell are you doing here?" Nina asked both scared and angry.

"I just wanted to talk."

"Well start talking now. I don't think I have the patience to sit here and chit-chat with you."

"Just hear me out, okay?"

Nina looked down and nodded.

"I know you probably hate me. But, you have to know why I did what I did."

"Look Luis, I'm sure you had this whole speech made out. But I don't have the time to listen to your bull."

He ignored her comment. "Think about it Nina. If I got caught with those drugs, I would've gotten years locked up. You would've gotten bailed out."

She looked over to the side to think. It was most likely true. But it still wasn't right for him to do what he did.

"Ni, I've been looking for you ever since that night. One of my boys told me that they saw you at the beach with your brother, so I knew that you had to be staying around here somewhere. Now, here I am. Here you are." he said getting slightly closer.

"Wow, all that...and did you call me Ni?"

"Yeah, isn't that what I used to call you?"

"Mhm, but were you really looking for me?"

"Yes! After we ran, we stopped for a little, then I went back to our apartment and waited."

Nina looked back down again. She was weak. If she looked up into his eyes, she knew she'd feel something.

He leaned in closer and lifted her chin. She turned away but he turned her back. They got closer and closer, until their lips touched. But then got interrupted by her phone. Chris called. She announced that she had to go and started to leave. He offered to give her a ride but she refused. Her mind was all over the place.

-in the car-

"Nina, what's up?" Chris asked, looking at Nina through the rear view mirror.

"Huh? Oh, nothing, I'm fine. Really."

"Um, okay..."

They pulled up at the hotel, said good-bye, and left.

"So what happened?" Kira asked.

"I'll tell you when we get to the room."

Kira could tell, by the tone of her voice, that Nina was holding in tears. She gave her a big hug. "We'll go up to our room, get snacks, and watch Netflix."

That's what they used to do in the old days whenever one was upset. So, of course, Nina couldn't refuse.

They laughed, they cried, they ate, and they talked until they passed out.

-1 a.m.-

**Beep Beeep**

(502) 457-8729: u up ?

Nina woke up and checked her phone.

Nina: Who's this?

(502) 457-8729: u dont got ma number saved ? its luis .

Nina: No, I don't.

(502) 457-8729: well ur obviously awake . where u at ?

Nina: My hotel

(502) 457-8729: u tryna meet up at ma crib ? I cn giv u a ride .

It irked Nina the way he texted. As if he were still in the 8th grade.

Nina: It's too late. I don't wanna wake Kira.

(502) 457-8729: pleas , jus for a sec , tell me where nd ima be ther .

Nina: I'm at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill. Hurry I'll be waiting in the lobby.

Luis was there in just five minutes. He had to be in the area.

He walked over to her and swept her off her feet. She smiled a little bit, but she could tell what he was doing. Trying to make her fall for him.

"Why you been ignoring me babygirl?"

He's doing a great job at it too.

"I haven't" She laughed, looked at him, then looked away. Her mind was still all over the place and he could tell, so he put her down.

"Let me buy you a drink." He looked into her eyes hoping she'll say yes.

All of the sudden, her mind cleared up. She finally realized that if she went any further with Luis that she would get drawn to him. So, she had to stop it.

"No Luis. I'm sorry, I really don't know what I'm doing... I need some sleep." She began to walk off.

"I just found you Ni! Don't go so fast."

She turned around. "You found me..theres nothing much else to do. I'm not the girl I used to be. You can try to deceive me with all of that 'I miss you' stuff but... I just need to think, okay?"

He gave her a big hug and let her go back to her room.

The next week, she hadn't made contact with him. Neither did he with her.

-knock knock-

Kira opened the door to see Chris and Seth standing at the door. All of the four had been hanging the whole week. Chris and Kira got back together, while Seth and Nina became best friends.

"Hey baby." Kira kissed Chris and allowed them to walk in.

Seth went right for the fridge to grab a beer, but stepped away with disappointment.

"Where's the beer? And Nina? And the beer?"

"Calm down, she just left to get some more."

-knock knock-

"I'm just famous today." Kira opened the door and recognized the face at the moment she saw it. "Luis."

Seth looked over to Kira right quick. "Did you say Luis? He's there?"

She ignored him and stepped out into the hall telling them not to follow. Seth had a short temper. He paced back and forth trying to calm down and not go fight Luis. Chris was sitting down, trying to hold all his anger in. They didn't know why he was there. Neither did Nina.
