Brook's POV
We head to the shop room and Robby keeps his arm around my shoulder as we walk down the hall. Robby goes and sits at his seat and I sit next to him. I write in my notepad: what do you want to do? Robby quietly says "I'm gonna do something random, I'm not working on anything specific." Chris says "the first job is for you all to design and make a table."

Robby mumbles "thats quick, we can do that." I nod, smiling, and Chris says "be as simple or as complex as you want. The person to your left is your partner. Make a table. No, you can't use the table saws. Your table can't be any bigger than fifty inches in length." Robby mumbles "lets make a round table. We can use the saw. Maybe hand carve on the legs?" I nod and Robby says "you can help, come on getting up and going to look at giant sheets of wood. He picks a thick one and takes his flannel off, picking up the piece of wood. He carries it by himself over to the floor near his station and he sits on the floor, me sitting next to him.

Robby says "now, this is the hardest part." He makes several measurements throughout the board and draws a circle saying "maybe I should help people out after I cut this." I nod and he looks at me saying "you want to use a saw?" I go wide eyed at him making him laugh. He says "I'll teach you" offering me a hand and I take it and he goes to grab some supplies. He watches a couple kids then says "woah woah woah!" He mumbles "give me a second" looking into my eyes then he goes over to them.

The boy starts explaining that there is a better and safer way to do something. Robby says "you are gonna cut yourself doing this like that. Been there done that, right, Chris?" Chris says "yeah! Blood everywhere, there's still blood stains on my floor from that!" Robby says "and it hurts, so you're going to want to do it like this so you don't make the shop look like a crime scene like I did."

I smile, shaking my head, and Robby comes over saying "I think we can finish this by the end of class." I shrug and he says "we will, have a little faith." I smile and he just does his thing. He makes a pretty much perfect circle. A few kids came over to watch him and Robby says "Chris, want a new table? This ones looking really nice if I put some kind of finisher on it."

Chris says "I'll take any table you make, Robby. I think I need one for my dining room, that ones falling apart." Robby chuckles saying "alright, should I go any smaller if its going in a dining room?" Chris says "no, it's perfect, keep going. What are you gonna jazz it up with?" Robby says "carve something into the legs, round the edges, and maybe some kind of paint and or wood finish cause this wood is really nice" and Chris chuckles saying "alright, I'm ready for this sexy table."

Robby says "this is going to be the best one I've made." Chris says "I doubt that. The glass topped table was pretty good with the black stain." Robby says "yeah, that's right, I forgot about that. This one though, I have a feeling its gonna be really good."

I smile and Chris says "don't spend all your time on this, this is a side project." Robby says "I know, I have other things to do anyway." Chris says "alright, please help them if they need anything. There's only so many of me."

Robby nods saying "I can do that." I smile and Robby keeps doing his thing and he says "wanna try?" I shrug then nod and he says "come here." He stands half behind me then rests his hands on mine and puts them where they should be.

I feel his breath on the back of my neck as he mumbles "nice and easy, babe." He directs me nice and slowly. I finish it up and he smiles saying "you did really good."

I smile back at him and he moves away from me. I pout at him slightly and he says "wanna go out for coffee after school?"

I bite my lip slightly and I nod at this boy that I just met. I'm going off the deep end for this boy I swear.

We go our separate ways for lunch and I find Hawk and the girls. I sit next to him and he says "where have you been?" I sign "your moms house." Hawk says "ok, rude." I smile and I sign "study hall." Robby then walks into the lunch room and Miguel is behind him. They start talking and Hawk looks over saying "Jesus Christ."

I furrow my eyebrows at him and he says "you haven't been filled in have you?" I shake my head as the two boys start arguing but are trying to remain calm. Hawk says "Robbys dad is banging Miguels mom." Moon says "they are dating, Hawk. They aren't just doing it and she's even pregnant too. Those guys just haven't sorted out their differences" shaking her head.

People start gathering around and Hawk quietly says "people think they're gonna fight. I don't think they will though." I squint at him and Hawk says "ok, maybe they will." He gets up and Moon, Yasmine, and I follow him.

I watch them argue about what seems to be nothing and Hawk steps in saying "calm down. Miguel, you're seriously doing this right now?" Miguel says "we were just talking" rolling his eyes. Robby says "I'm over it for now" walking out after he realizes everyone's there.

I watch as Robby leaves then Miguel comes over saying "were good" quietly. Everything goes back to what it was just a few minutes ago and I write in my notebook: whats the story? Spill.
