Drained and exhausted. That's what she is. No matter how much you love your job there will always be a time that you will feel burned out.
Sana noticed a difference between her job and Tzuyu's when they shared an apartment. Tzuyu always carries a scientific calculator. No matter where she is, what she's doing, she would pull out her calculator and compute something. Her job is 98% numbers, 1% doing reports and 1% drawing.
For an architect like herself, there is no formula. She constantly needs to make a unique design everytime. Something she hasn't done before, something that doesn't look the same to her past projects. The pressure builds up and now she's just tired. She can't think of anything, she's not motivated, all she wants to do is stare at nothing, and do nothing. Which she'd been doing perfectly before their meeting.
"Tzuyu sent this accomplishment report. She informed me that we are behind schedule, she's requesting 24 hours of work until we get back on track."
"Do we have enough workers for that?" Jihyo asks. "Or is she planning to group the workers for morning and evening shifts? Because that won't make sense."
"Uhh—she's asking for additional workers."
"Hire temporary workers?"
"Uh—"
Sana wishes that Chaeyoung could speak confidently like Tzuyu. She is smart but she couldn't understand why she is not confident when she speaks. She can't even ask Mina for a date.
This small bean needs my help. Sana thinks to herself.
"Skilled workers won't accept a two month job."
"Uh—" Chaeyoung scratches the back of her neck. "Yes."
See.
"I think Tzuyu was thinking of borrowing some workers from other projects." She says, while examining the paper on her hand. "She included the schedule of other projects at the bottom and the number of workers."
Jihyo nods. "You know how Tzuyu thinks." She comments. "Let's do that. Call the site engineers, Jeongyeon. Ask them the number of workers they can send to Hillsborough."
"Okay." Jeongyeon says, her attention is still on her phone, typing.
Jihyo grips the pen tighter, biting her lip. "You will put your phone down or you will leave this room."
Jeongyeon continues to type her life story on the phone judging by how long she's been typing. She must be telling stories about her childhood. Then she smiles before putting her phone down on the table.
Then she notices that everyone is quiet, and staring at her.
"Are you talking to me?" Jeongyeon asks innocently. Then she turns to Sana. "Are you?"
"Touch your phone again and I will throw that outside the window." Jihyo warns the senior engineer. "Or better if you quit since you're so focused on getting Nayeon's attention." The project manager calls Jeongyeon out.
Jeongyeon got Nayeon's contact number after the President gave it so they can communicate easily since she will be in charge of the renovation of Nayeon's house. Nayeon called Jihyo and talked about the engineer since she was asked about food she likes to eat which obviously wasn't necessary if their job is to replace some tiles and repaint her bedroom wall. Also she remembered the name from Tzuyu.
Chaeyoung covers her mouth with both of her hands while she yawns, afraid that Jihyo will call her out too.
This one sided argument can't even compare to common arguments at their project sites where everyone with short patience is gathered together. Let's call them engineers.
