"Drive! Drive!" she yelled in panic.

"I am if you haven't noticed!" he continued to press on the gas pedal and the car sped down the highway.

Tory watched the black car coming up behind them. "Then drive faster!"

Will stepped on the gas until they were driving at eighty-two. Will quickly pulled her away from the window. "Stay down." He pushed her as far into the seat as she could and fastened her seatbelt and tightened it.

"What do they want?" she asked him.

He then realized his mistake. "Uh, I think this is their car."

"Then give it back to them!"

"I can't pull over and hand it back, Tory!" She let down the window. "Tory, what are you doing?" he then saw what was in her hand. "Don't even think about it!"

Before he knew it, Tory unbuckled, stuck her head out the window, and began waving the stack of money in the air. "We'll give it back if you just stop chasing us! If you don't, we'll throw it out!"

"Tory stop!" He reached over and pulled on her hand until she was back inside the car and refastened her belt. "You're gonna get us killed."

The black car behind them then hit the bumper, and they jerked forward. Thankfully, both were wearing their belts. When hit again, they screamed. After another hit, Tory leaned her head back out the window and threw the money on the windshield of the black car. The money scattered into the wind and the black car at last hit the brakes.

She brought her head back inside. "Got 'em! Go! Go!" she cheered, smiling at Will. "I got 'em!"

Will didn't cheer as he searched for a safe place to ditch the car. Finally, they came across a forest area with lots of trees and bushes and he parked the car. He put his head on the wheel. "This is not good."

"What's wrong? They stopped following us, didn't they?"

He sighed loudly, not raising his head. "How are we supposed to go to the police now? We can't say we stole their car and threw out their money!"

She shrugged. "Maybe they'll believe us."

"I wouldn't believe you even if I weren't here!" he snapped.

"I've had enough of you for one day." Tory frowned.

"You had enough of me?"

"Are you deaf and stupid?"

"Calling me names will not fix the problem you caused."

"How is this my fault?" she yelled.

"You just had to go back to your stupid car!"

"I'm not the one who found the criminals, Will! And I'm not the one who stole their car!"

"But you're the one who threw the money at them! Now they're even more furious with us!"

"We've just listed four reasons for them to kill us." Tory mentioned.

"We better get out of here." Will got out and started walking up the hill to get back to the main road.

"Where are we going now?"

"Why are you asking me?"

"You're the one who always has to come up with the plans... no matter where they land us." She pointed back to the car.

Will knew she was being sarcastic but thought anyway. "We'll find somewhere with a phone. We then call my family at the hotel and tell them where we are."

"Good plan." She nodded. "But I think you're forgetting something."

"Like what?"

"Like the car thieves whose car you stole and hidden and who probably want us dead by now for messing with their money!"

"I didn't forget. We can," he stopped. "Tory, where is it?"

"Where's what?" She made a face. "It's in the car. In the glove compartment."

He stared at her suspiciously. "How much of it?"

Tory turned her face away from him. "Most of it."

"Tory!"

"Ok but hear me out!" she explained. "All of our stuff is back in the car. We can't get around without money."

"It's the thieves' money!" he glared.

"And it's already stolen!" she reasoned.

He shook his head viciously and stormed away. "I can't! I can't deal with this right now! Let's just call the police as soon as we arrive at the hotel!"

"Why can't we call them as soon as we find a phone?" she followed.

"Because I want to be far... far away from those guys."

Tory breathed heavily as they walked up the hill. "So, where are we going to find this phone?"

"At the first house, we see." But as they reached the top of the hill, they saw fields of corn and grain and one long strip of road in the center. They froze and stared at the view in disbelief.

"Well, let me know when you spot a house... or anything." Tory said sarcastically.
