Will stood directly in the doorway of the abandoned shop. The sign above was long gone. Broken glass and garbage were scattered about the front steps. "Hello?" he called.
"Enter!"
Will slowly stepped in and immediately saw the men standing in front of a table. Sitting at the table was Tory. Her mouth gagged, her hands tied, and her eyes blindfolded. Upon seeing her, he froze.
"Come closer!" the tall one ordered. Will moved to the table. "Now comes the part where you tell me what happened to my car."
"I, uh, I parked it. It's safe and hidden." He stuttered.
"Where?" the man shouted viciously.
"I can show you the place. I'm not exactly sure where cause I'm from out of town."
The men were silent for a minute, then the tall one laughed. "You know, that's what your girl told us. I thought for sure she was lying!" he pointed to Tory. "You have your hands full with this one!"
Will glanced at Tory, unsure if she was hurt. "Let her go. You can take me."
The man hissed. "It's more fun this way."
"What are you going to do to us?" he asked, confused.
"We're all going to take a little ride to locate what's mine." he motioned to the muscle man. "Put them in the car."
The muscle man pulled Tory up by her arm. "Don't hurt her!" Will screamed angrily; his hands balling into fists.
"Spare us the heroics." The man then dragged Will outside and put both into the back of the same black car that chased them.
Will quickly untied Tory's hands and removed her blindfold. "You ok?" he became relieved when he saw her eyes.
Tory didn't get emotional but stayed annoyed. "Fine, despite the horrible death we're about to experience." She said once he removed her gag.
"Did they hurt you?"
She showed him her wrists with wilts and bruises. "They had to pin me down to tie me. But I got my fair share of hits in."
He looked at the men standing outside the car, who seemed unfazed. "What are you talking about?"
"There were three guys." Tory mentioned, and he had to smile. "I didn't think you'd come after me."
Will stared into her eyes. "Of course, I came. I never want anything bad to happen to you." He softly rubbed her wrist. "Tory... I-"
"Will, you don't have to say anything. We're about to die, so nothing needs to be said." She sighed.
Will gently brushed her hair back from her face. "Do you know why I started calling you Bee Bee?"
"No."
"The very first time we met... on a school trip to the field museum. My teacher was going on and on about the world's first engine and I heard a scream. I wandered away from the group and followed the screams. And I saw you... swatting at a bee. Do you remember what you said to me?"
"Help me, please. I'm allergic to bees." Tory softly said.
"Bee Bee," He smiled. "It forever reminds me of the first time I laid eyes on you."
Tory finally looked at him with longing. "Do you regret it?"
Will didn't hesitate. "Never."
As the two men got in the car, four police cars drove up with their sirens blaring and lights flashing. One cop got out of the car with a loud horn. "You're surrounded. Step out of the car with your hands in the air!"
The men scowled but did as they were told, leaving Will and Tory in the backseat. "Tory, we're still alive! We're going to be ok!" Tory let out a sigh of relief at the sight of the lights.
The men were put in handcuffs as a familiar face approached the car and opened the door. "Alright, you two. You can come out now."
Will stepped out first before helping Tory. "Alvin?"
"You're a cop?" Tory asked in shock.
"Small world, huh?" he nodded. "You two, ok?"
"Fine, thanks to you. How'd you know we were here?" Will asked him.
"I didn't. I got a call back at the station saying you were in some trouble. Also, we found two cars, one of them registered to Tory. So I knew you had gotten mixed up in something horrible. We would've gotten here sooner, but we had some car trouble."
Will smiled. "Of course." Tory rolled her eyes.
"A call?" Will asked, thinking. It had to have come from Tiffany.
"My car! You found my car?" Tory shouted.
"All of your belongings are safe and sound. I can give you a lift to the station or a lift to that wedding."
Will and Tory exchanged glances. "Well, uh... I don't know..."
"You better get going." Tory urged him. "Tiffany will kill you if you don't show up."
"What about you?"
Her face fell. "Don't worry about me, Will. I'll go my way and you go yours. That way, I won't cause any more problems." Will stared at her sadly. "I'll send your bag to the hotel when I get to the station." Without so much as a second glance, she turned and walked to the police car.
