"So Lilly, how was your birthday", asked May.
"Um, yeh it was ok I guess", replied Lilly. It was nothing too special"
"Well...I kinda have to go to my locker now, so I'll talk to you later", said May.
"Ok bye", replied Lilly.
May has been Lilly's friend for as long as she could remember. They've shared so many memories together. But Lilly never told her about her mother. She always tried to keep it a secret from everyone at school. She was scared that they would make fun of her and call her an orphan.
Lilly headed to the library to gather some research that she had done the previous night. She had found her mothers previous number and previous address. Lilly was determined to find her mother no matter what it takes. But Lilly was a shy person. She didn't want to go up to a strangers house and ask if they knew the previous owner. Lilly then decided to text her mothers old number. That way, it wouldn't be as awkward.
"Hi, I'm just wandering... Who owns this number."
Lilly waits for 2 mins in complete suspense. Suddenly a beep is heard from her phone.
Lilly picks up her phone almost dropping it with excitement.
"Um, my names Claire, who's this"
Lilly texts back
"I'm Lilly I was just wandering if you knew who my mother was."
...
"Who's your mother"
...
"Her name's Jillian"
...
...
...
Lilly waits for what feels like hours and still no sound was heard from her phone.
The bell rings Lilly heads to period 3 in complete disappointment. She was so close to finding more clues that could change everything.
Lilly walks to the science lab with a glum look in her face.
She walks to the room and sits next to May.
The teacher ( Mrs Bruton) begins writing the lesson onto the board.
