"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Lilly, Happy Birthday to You!
Lilly always felt nautious on her birthday! She was scared that she would embarrass herself in front of the many people singing happy birthday to her.
"Blow out the candles Lilly"
"Yeh, but first make a wish"
Lilly clenched her sequinned dress tight. Bending down to the low Kitchen table, she made a wish and blew out the candles.
Everyone cheered and clapped as her cheeks became redder and redder. Lilly walked upstairs to her room as the guests began eating dessert. She ran into her room and shut the door. Taking out her journal and a pen, Lilly began writing as fast as she could for she knew that any minute now someone would come barging into her room.
Dear Diary,
Today was my birthday. It was pretty cool! I got heaps of gifts and money. I even got an awesome chocolate marble cake, my favourite! But there's just one thing on my mind right now... Mum. Before I blew out the candles, I made a wish hoping to find my mother. I'm praying that my wish will come true.
