STARTED WITH A DISASTER
Chapter 2: How to Get Stuck With a Jerk
"I need to call my parents but there's no signal here." I said as I raised my phone towards the sky trying to increase the low network lines.
The four of us had been stranded here for more than an hour and all we know until now is that the earthquake was one of the most devastating earthquakes America had ever seen. There'd been a great loss of money and all sorts of Wi-Fi signals and networks had been cut off for the moment. Yes, everything was just rumors-or things that we could have figured out on our own.
However, I still couldn't give up.
"Just sit down and chat with us." Damon muttered. "If it hasn't gotten through your thick skull yet, we just survived a Damon-ball's-size earthquake.."
Sam cut me off before I could say anything.
"Oh!" She smirked. "You mean unpredictable and disappointing?"
Damon laughed. "No, darling, you know what I mean and I mean gigantic."
Sam huffed. "Hmm.. Well, if that's the case then, I don't see why you wear small size pants then."
"They barely fit me." He defended. "Besides, these are not small sized."
"Ha! Really?" She snickered. "You expect me to believe your stupid exaggerations, you sucker-puncher?"
"Careful, sunshine. I wish I could show you how big my balls are except for the fact that you're my bro." He punched her on the arm.
Sam laughed. "You're the one who hangs around with me and Em. You dare to call me bro?"
"Touché. I have other friends too. It's just that a bit of feminine advice now and then helps a lo-"
Sam snorted. "Feminine advice my ass, you just hang around us for free food."
Damon seemed to be thoughtful for a moment before he replied, "Well, that's one of the reasons, I guess. But not yours. No offense. But, Jesus, woman, your cooking is downright evil."
"Careful, sucker. Don't make me cut off your balls." She threatened.
"Well, you're gonna need one hell of a huge scissor to cut off my-"
I walked away, irritated and slightly amused by their bickering. Whenever I was around my two best friends, they would always end up either (1) poking fun at me or, (2) poking fun at each other.
My mobile beeped as I neared the fence. When I looked down it showed that that battery was down.
I stopped short and stomped my foot. "Are you kidding me?!" I shouted looking at the sky.
UGH!
I stomped my foot again and walked out of the park near the road. This was crazy.
First of all, I find my boyfriend cheating on me with my ex-best friend. Then, there's a huge earthquake that completely destroys my home and now I can't even talk to my parents who are over the Atlantic Ocean?
What kind of world was this?
Where the hell is justice and fairness?
I keep mumbling curses at no one as I walk down the unknown path. I scream in frustration as tears threaten to spill out.
I bet it's confusing you as to why I was leaving a safe place during an earthquake aftershock period and walking down a mysterious pavement which led to absolutely nowhere.
