It had been a few weeks and Naruto still hadn't given Shikamaru an answer. He kept avoiding it and when he looked at him and got caught doing it, he had a full blown blush on his face prompting Shikamaru to laugh softly.
A few more days passed and Naruto stopped going to school. The teachers and students don't know why and Shikamaru begins to think that Naruto is avoiding him more. Day after day he went to school to work and finally to his house and that routine started happening every day. Tenten and Temari are unable to contact him and everyone starts to worry.
After a few more months the movie that Naruto shot finally came out. This causes his friends to stop worrying. They all go to the premiere of that movie but can't find him in the crowd.
A few days later Temari received a message from Naruto
"A: Mari-chan
Ohayo Mari-chan, I have to go to New York for a few years. Grandpa wanted me to act in one of his films with my older brother. I was not going back to Japan as my father had already decided that I would start studying at home. My dad also said that I also need to delete all my social media accounts to start over. See you in a few years Mark-chan and tell the others I say hello.

"You have to go on shikamaru" They always say that and I know I have to but ... I just can't. Five years have passed and here I am waiting for you to come back hoping that somehow you do not forget that you have yet to give me your answer. I know it's silly but hey! I mean it when I told him I would wait even if it eventually took a thousand years to confirm it.
That day was a day like any other school, work and home day but I felt that something was going to change very soon.

"It's been five years, I wonder how is everyone?" Naruto thought to himself
"The last time I saw them was before I started shooting the last film in Japan ..."
"little brother are you okay?" I look at Menma who is sitting next to his grandfather. We're actually having dinner right now
"I feel like I've forgotten something," I said
Everyone looks at me before my dad says "And what is it?"
A few days before we started filming the last scene of the film in Japan, my dad and big brother apologized for neglecting me and Menma and promised they would try to fix it and they did. I found out grandpa told grandma how dad and big brother treated us and even questioned my aunt before rushing to dad's office and talking to big brother and started teaching him how they shouldn't neglect their kids and brothers. His assistant manages to film it and deliver said recording to his aunt for blackmail material.
"I feel it has something to do with my friends in Japan" I said before my aunt seems to remember anything
"Is it about your boyfriend?" After the aunt said those words, the grandfather, the father and the brothers sit straight and stare at me very intensely that I started tinkering with my clothes
"What boy?" They all screamed at the same time
"I do not know!" I yelled back before the gears in my head started turning
