"Where is the Princess?" Jungkook asked as he arrived on site at the barracks where training continued on this bright and early morning. He had asked Sir Min whom was overseeing a group in one on one combat.
"You're late Jeon." Yoongi said curtly, never taking his eyes off a pair whom's fight was basically over as one of them was pinned down. "Now tell me, why are you late."
"I have been assigned to look after her highness but she is nowhere to be found. Thus I've been looking for her." Jungkook said rather worried. Yoongi finally glanced at the flustered knight.
"I believe she's with the traveller-"
"With Jin?" Jungkook questioned abruptly before Yoongi could continue. Sir Min narrowed his eyes at the rather rude interruption.
"Yes. His highness had requested they would spend the day together. Had you not heard?" Yoongi sighed before barking at a duo whom started playing around, "those wooden swords would slice you into pieces if they had been real! Now halt your juvenile actions and get back to sparring!"
The men, not just the ones that were playing around all straightened up and went back to serious combat. Sir Min was a tough teacher, but he had to be for he knew the upcoming war would be much sooner than anticipated and he did not want people to die out of vain.
"Out there, none of you will be given a second chance! None of you will wield childish wooden swords that would only but cause you a mild bruise if you were hit. Out there, all of you will wield steel swords five times heavier than the ones you hold onto now, swords that would severely damage you or possibly slice a limb off upon impact." Yoongi drew his own making everyone flinch as the steel long sword blinded them in the sunlight, stabbing it into the ground in front of him, he leaned against the hilt. "So do not take any of this lightly if you want to save not only yourselves but the people and kingdom you love and want to protect." He glared at them, "my job here is to make sure all of you come back in one piece."
Jungkook too was mildly frightened by the commander, yet there was an aura of authority you could not help but follow and respect that radiated from him. He had also forgotten the Commander was one of the few who wielded a long sword. One that was sheathed upon the users back rather than the scabbard upon the hip. The sword was large and heavy, and only few he knew had the ability to wield it without issue.
"Sir Jeon, you needn't worry about the princess."
Jungkook was surprised by his sudden change of caring tone, he relaxed and nodded to the commander.
"Yes Sir." Jungkook bowed with his fist upon his chest. The two then carried out their duties as heads in command, Yoongi was in charge of sparring, whereas Jungkook taught them hand to hand combat. The other experienced knights were also involved to help train the inexperienced and themselves as well for that matter, specially those who hadn't been in battle in a while.
After hours had passed and it was finally time for lunch, everyone broke off to have a meal and break yet a crowd of the palace servants had emerged, squealing and chatting amongst themselves as they swooned at the knights who have shed their upper attire due to the workout.
Jungkook heard Yoongi sigh deeply next to him as he took a long drink of water as they relaxed against one of the wooden fences.
"Something the matter Commander?" Jungkook asked.
Yoongi had a look of contemplation before shaking his head, "No." Though it was an utter lie, it wasn't something he was about to discuss with Jungkook.
The two weren't the closest nor did they really interact much at all back at the Apollo Kingdom either but they at least felt some level of comfort around each other. Though Yoongi did have a question for him.
