"Issue #26! Of course, my my, weren't you here for #25 yesterday?"

The gentle yet soothing Voice of Gyumo Sadoka, the beloved Librarian on the very edge of the Pride Ring, where most things were drifted off from the wars for lands discarded from the exterminating demise of past sinners. Gyumo was a kind soul...especially for one that didn't have one. Offering to those who needed it, no matter what.

"She stormed through it like there was no today."

The Imp mother claimed as her young daughter would jump up and down in joy, the new issue of 'Potions and Mechanically' in her small clawed hands. She jumped in joy before speaking her true feelings on such a book, "I must know how to make the potions they use! It's guaranteed in this issue!"

Yet, the Child would soon figure out that it was a way to keep a sinner glued to a series like itself.

Gyumo found himself with a smile, the joy the child had really brought the Snake joy, "I wish you well on your journey, Potion Mechanic!"

——

Once he had waved the Imp and her Child off, he set a sign above his desk, 'Round Back!' as he found himself indeed slithering to the back of his desk where books upon books sat. Books pushed to the walls to make a book wall itself. Yet, upon the maze of books, through the twists of genre and titles...was a fort. A Fort O'Books.

Gyumo slid to the Fort and ducked down upon entry, which resulted in his long, tranquil coloured body to coil in on itself until he could easily rest his elbows upon his scaled end. He looked to his side bag, closed with a gem, a white gem. He gently split the magnets to let his bag of wonders breathe the book scent , it consisted of old poetry to the new glossy pages of a graphic novel. He proceeded to pull out, surprisingly enough, a book.

A book on another snake down in Hell that he admires well for his craftsmanship and his ways in targeting a dream and the way he liked all the tea Gyumo liked and how...oh he was rambling. He licked a finger as he opened the hard cover of the book, written by his idol, flicking the pages quickly till he brought his finger down on the word, 'Hope, Chapter 8'.

Gyumo got as comfortable as he could, resting on his long serpent body with the valuable book in his hands...well, Valuable to him, no one else would truly bother to read on one of 'Hell's failures.' He didn't see it that way. He knew that Cobra would proceed on to serve well.

His olive eyes shifting through each word, his mind running wild with the pictures in front of him, written, imprinted onto the pages.

But he found his own time to stop, more suddenly than usual, as a bang was heard. The likes of a door swinging open, and the only door here, was the bathrooms, the back door and the front door. He highly doubted anyone would have to do their business that aggressively and the back door was off limits to customers. It was the Front Doors.

He slowly uncoiled, everything was silent after that until a 'Ping!' sounded. That was the Bell. The Brass Bell on Gyumo's desk.

The Snake knew it was his duty to creep forward to his job but something felt wrong about this. This was a library, no one should enter so audibly, he was sure his bell upon the door was broken as the entrance was so loud the door's bell made no noise.

The Corn snake took a breath before slithering toward the ringing bell that seemed to ring in his ears and mind, almost jolting his sight. As he crept further, a silhouette stood in front of his desk, he kept moving, Pinks and greens, closer...

"Hello Dear! I Require one of your finest pieces of Poetry, Only the Finest!"

Gyumo stood straight in front of this tall female sinner. She was gazing down at him with the brightest green eyes that he had ever seen, eyelashes that were also very extended off the face but they definitely fit her well. The Snake would admit in his mind that the colours were definitely off what he could look at for a long time, it got mind boggling after awhile, till he found himself looking to the side.

"..Poetry? Poetry! Yes, of course, of course!..hah, yes..." he mumbled the last part nervously before moving back to his books. He let his small nails go down the poetry shelf, thinking on what he pictured was going to happen and what actually did happen. His nail stopped upon a book titled, 'Admirable Agony.'. His mind probably thought right.

He took the book into his hands and took another breather before heading out to the female that stood alluringly in front of his old desk. "...hah...will this do?"He would ponder, handing the book to the bright pink claws of the other sinner who seemed to take the book willingly.

Her eyes jolted along the title, like a predator stalking prey. Her reflexs brought the book to turn, exposing the blurb. Her eyes jolted again. Gyumo remained there in utter shock but kept his expressions and feelings under control, until the Overlord looked up from her handed book. Her once reading gaze now stared at Gyumo, he had never been as scared as he was now in his own job premises. It all died down when the horned cat's smile widened more, "Simply Darling Dear! Title to all! This will do splendid! Call me Absinus, yourself?"

She had shoved the book in her side bag that seemed to have other oddly worrying items in it but Gyumo didn't have time to think as Absinus retracted her arm out to him, wanting to shake on it. He took a moment but let his hand reach toward hers, soon having his own small, scaled hand in her larger hand. Absinus did not hesitate to quickly shake his hand, gripping it so much that it could almost draw blood.

Gyumo gave a halt in his breath and looked up as his arm moved up and down. "Gyumo! It's Gyumo!" He spoke, though his pain was not doing too good on his crackling voice. Absinus then let go and grinned, "Ah, Gyumo! Well you are a splendid lost soul and I am utterly cursed to have been of your acquaintance! Or was it the other way round? Haha!"

Gyumo looked to his hand, claw marks being imprinted into his scales, he gave a hiss into himself but shook it off and brought a forced smile, "Hah Hah...Yes, maybe it was." This Sinner's energy reminded him awfully of that Radio Demon from that Hotel.

"I must be allowed to settle down here, the others were all here sat and quaint before I came in, they seemed to have gotten busy!"

Absinus was right, all the customers were gone, some even dropped whatever they had and bailed the premises.

Gyumo's gaze shifted side to side, up and down, around the room, before announcing with a sigh, "Yeah! Yeah, it's all open to sit and read in..."

Absinus gave a simple nod with her almost menacing grin and turned, strutting toward a seat.

Gyumo watched before glancing at the clock, he should've been off minutes ago.

"Actually!"

Absinus seemed to remark suddenly. "Care for some tea?" She had gestured to the café out the window, one of the more safe cafés in the whole ring. Gyumo looked to it before his gaze was on Absinus again.

He shrugged.

"Sure."
