Throughout humanity, things were always taken by force. As much as people wanted to believe we had evolved into being above the violence, the history of humanity was nothing but a tale of destruction, horrible acts of violence, and forcing our beliefs on anyone who was not already a follower. Democracy, the constitution, and the bill of rights had once been deemed some of the greatest inventions of man, the final plan to unite people across all walks of life. Its founding principles had lasted for hundreds of years, but people eventually started to believe that it was outdated and that we could no longer follow rules that had been decided hundreds of years before the people of today were born. Free speech was deemed too hurtful to the sensitivity of humans and soon people began creating their own rules about what people were allowed to say. The right to bear arms was too radical for the people of today to believe that everyone had the right to own their own weapons, even though a whole revolution was fought over tyranny of a foreign government trying to tell us what to do. The people who had clung to their religious beliefs were labeled problems to society as they became a minority across the world. As the western culture had spread its infection seed across the world, even the most deeply seated religious communities began to crack. People left their faith to join one of competition for the greatest social status. With M Corp gaining all the power during this transition, there were no longer any other rules or laws besides what they put forth. If they had a suspicion that you were a problem, they were able to search, seize or even imprison someone without any probable cause. The ultimate dictatorship had been created, and almost everyone willingly let it happen.

Marilyn had been raised to believe in something greater than herself. She wouldn't label herself as religious, but her parents had instilled the basic beliefs of Jesus, his disciples and following the words of god into Marilyn during her childhood. Her experiences had proven that if there was a higher power influencing the lives of humanity, they had somehow forgotten about the innocent, naive girl that had been abandoned by the world. She didn't know what to think of the creature that had saved her and was now leading her to somewhere unknown, but she felt safer now than she ever did in the presence of another human. As she tried to keep up with the creature who took very slow steps but at great distances, Marilyn began to wonder where the creature came from and what it was doing here. She could remember hearing scary stories as a kid about monsters, but thought they were all make believe. Contemplating if these stories were based in any fact, the creature began filling Marilyn's mind with the history of what happened.

There was a malfunction on their craft and they were forced to find any close habitable planets to try and land on. Earth was the closest one that they could identify and they redirected their flight path to fly there. They had never been to this planet and did not know what they would find. Their instruments on the craft were able to tell them its atmosphere was suitable for creatures like themselves and they knew it would have a clean water source, which they desperately needed to survive. They did not plan to stay here and only planned on stopping long enough to fix their ship or signal for something to come help them. With limited control of the spaceship, it crashed when it landed on Earth, making it unrepairable and stranding the aliens. Many creatures on the ship were killed, but a number of them survived. They attempted to fix and salvage whatever was left in the wreckage, but within a day of the crash humans appeared to investigate what they thought was an asteroid impact. NASA had seen the object enter Earth's atmosphere and notified the military that an unknown object had just crashed in Europe. Leaders of Nations around the world were notified of the event as they all quickly gathered small groups from their military's to look into it. Everyone was certain that it was most likely an asteroid that was too small to detect coming towards Earth, but the sudden change in direction the object maneuvered before entering the atmosphere alerted some of the scientists that it could be an intelligent craft. The creatures meant no harm and the initial meeting between humans and the aliens resulted in an agreement to help them in exchange for whatever technology they were able to offer. The creatures were unable to mimic the sounds that humans used to communicate, but they quickly found that they could easily infiltrate the electronic pulses that flowed through humans' brains and telepathically communicate with them. Everything was peaceful at first as the creatures assured us they meant no harm, and we gave them our word that they could live in secrecy on Earth as long as they stayed around the crash site. A security perimeter was put up around the site and only authorized personnel were allowed to enter and communicate with the creatures.
