The night was Sunny's first real night back in faraway since he had moved after 2 years though the time was short, it seemed like forever to him, sunny sighed and laid in his new bed he was staying in Basil's grandma's old room since her passing, he stared at the ceiling unable to sleep he tossed and turned uncomfortable, so he got up and walked to the kitchen perhaps a snack would help? He grabbed a yogurt from the fridge and a spoon and started to eat it he sighed as he heard a door creak open he dropped the spoon and quickly turned around seeing his boyfriend with a blanket wrapped around him "oh hey sunny...sorry did I wake you up?" He looked at him with an 'are you serious right now?" Face "basil I was up before you..." the blonde sighed "sorry I can't sleep it's cold in my room" sunny recalled what he often said about him how warm sunny always was, sunny hugged the blonde "let's get some sleep you have a busy week..." basil shook his head "hey...do you ever think it's weird how we can't be apart from eachother?" Sunny chuckled "not really considering we were apart for a year...and yet our relationship is stronger" he kissed the boy's head basil blushed wanting to ask something sunny knew by looking he held the others hand and walked into his room laying on Basil's bed, basil smiled and laid next to him the two fell asleep
The next day basil made breakfast while sunny was looking at job offerings finding a few the usual Gino's delivery boy...god he swore he'd never do that again...and usual small jobs at the store he sighed and put it down looking at basil specifically his teal painted nails "hey do you have anymore nail polish?" Basil made the plates "hm? Oh uhh aubrey does my nails for me...by the way sunny does your mom know you're back here?" Oh crap he knew he was forgetting something "uhhh..." "sunny..." basil sighed "you should probably tell her" sunny nodded as someone knocked on the door basil opened seeing Kel wearing a white button up and dress pants he smiled and waved "hey gays" sunny nearly spit his food out as basil stifled a laugh "hey kel what's up?" He chuckled "nothing much wanted to hang out a bit since I'm leaving for collage soon" basil nodded "we'll still keep in touch right?" Kel nodded "yeah definitely Aubrey's going with to become a child psychiatrist...I think she'll be great in it" basil nodded "yeah..if you want we could have a party at the hangout spot me you, Aubrey, sunny and Abbi think of it as one last goodbye" Kel chuckled "okay sure...what about you two?" Sunny thought then shrugged "dunno..." basil chuckled "well I'm going to buy out this small shop not far with the rest of my inheritance after bills and expenses, and start a small greenhouse" Kel nodded "yeah well that sounds like you basil, anyway see you two later" Kel walked away as sunny waved "wow...Kel a school teacher, basil chuckled "I know..." basil sat across from sunny "we've been through so much...do you still ever see...those something's?....." sunny held Basil's hand over the table "yeah, but not as often anymore...you?" Basil just starred at sunny almost frightful, "I-" Basil squeezed Sunny's hand "I'm just worried that sometimes..." he teared up "that this is a dream and when I wake up I'll be back in my room the night you guys slept over....and..." sunny held the blonde tightly and wiped the tears away "I'm here basil...I'm not leaving..."
That night the gang met up at the old hangout spot, they had lights, drinks and food, and some music sunny and basil were the last two to arrive, Kel walked over and smiled "hey guys you made it" the two sat on the blanket basil looked around "where's hero?" Kel shrugged "him and Bowen are out doing engagement stuff..." Aubrey opened the bottles "okay, orange joe for you...starfruit soda...and watermelon juice, sunny you want anything?" He shook his head "I'm good..." Basil looked at aubrey "just keep a water in there incase" everyone talked about life, future plans, and everything else aubrey sighed "do you guys ever still think about...her?" Sunny was taken aback by the question though he didn't like talking about mari he knew it wasn't healthy to not talk about her, "sometimes...I think she would be happy for everyone and so proud...proud that you and Kel are finding the things you love, that hero is continuing to live on, and proud that basil is staying determined through everything he's been through..." the blonde squeezed his hand "she would be proud of you for doing all those things sunny" he smiled "and I'm sure she would've love to have met abbi" the rest of the night was filled with chatter and laugher, Kel looked at the time and sighed "well...I should get going" sunny hugged kel "text us when you're settled in kel" he nodded hugging back "of course"
That night sunny moved into the bedroom that used to belong to basils grandma he laid in the bed and sighed he was happy for his friends and happy knowing mari would be proud
