Solomon looked into his glass in hand for a moment before turning his attention to Barbatos. It was nearly midnight and the demon had inquired for a private meeting in the Royal Study.
The sorcerer pondered for a moment, at the situation at hand. He rubbed a hand under his chin as he hummed.
"You know, this isn't something that can be solved easily, let alone overnight. I get that you're worried about Sarah but I doubt making another demon pact will make her happy.
Besides, I have my doubts that a woman who has no magic can handle more than her current pacts. She may only be able to contain the seven she has now due to their connection with Lilith and each other. Anyone who isn't one of the demon brothers might pose a problem for her."
Barbatos frowned as he held a teacup close, "I see. What would you suggest I do then?"
"Well, get to the root of the problem and go from there. You say Satan has been called on by witches during the days he was supposed to be spending them with Sarah, correct? Perhaps we can have a word with them. Maybe having Satan nearby to confirm or deny the claims the ladies make?"
Barbatos nods slowly. That did sound like a better idea than to place more pressure on Sarah.
About two hours later...
In Purgatory Hall, the usual music room was used as a mock interrogation room. Five witches who were normally seen with the demon were placed at a porcelain table and served tea that Barbatos made. Sitting at the table with them was just Solomon. Outside of the room was Barbatos and Satan. They listened to the conversation through Solomon's D.D.D..They turned off voice for their end so none of their commentary could be heard while Solomon spoke with the witches.
While Solomon gave pleasantries, Satan looked over to Barbatos.
"Why are you two doing this? I don't understand what your goal is here.."
The demon butler frowned as he slowly turned to Satan, "Sarah still has emotions for you. However, she is uncertain if your desire in her has passed or if your busy days were on purpose. How do you feel about Sarah, Satan?"
He looked away, looking towards the door to the music room, "Honestly? I miss her. The way she laughs, how she takes a deep breath before nuzzling her head into my chest to sleep, the way she was able to tame my temper even on my bad days. But after the other day, I don't even think she wants to talk to me, let alone see me."
"Hmn..you may want to reserve that thought.."
Satan raised a brow as he listened a little more carefully. Each witch mentioned what their relation is with Satan. All but one was forthcoming with their information. The silent one sat at the far end of the table, nursing her tea.
Solomon looked to the woman, "What about you? What relation do you have to Satan? I hear you've been summoning him quite often.."
The woman merely gave a knowing grin, "You've heard that much? Good. My plan is working."
Solomon gave her a confused look, "What's that?"
She slowly placed her teacup down, folding her hands over the table, "Last year, Satan broke the arm of one of my coven members' arms. He threatened our current leader and dared to bring that powerless human to one of our gatherings. I'm doing what our current leader didn't have the guts to do. Making use of our pact with the demon and ensuring he is our main avatar and his attention isn't divided to someone who isn't worthy of his attention."
There were mixed reactions around the table from the other witches but Solomon had a thoughtful expression on his face. He wondered how Satan was taking the news.
