"I'm done!" I screamed at Ethan as I turned around to head to the bedroom. I couldn't take it anymore. He's a child.

"Good! Move back to Iowa then! See if I care. I don't need you telling me what to do. I'll give you the 2 days I'll be in South Dakota to grab your shit and leave my house!" Ethan screamed back as he stormed out of the house, slamming the front door as the ground shook below him.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried not to cry. I waited until I heard the blazer start up and drive off before I emerged from the bedroom.

I slowly emerged around the corner to the living room, making sure it was clear. I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding as I walked towards the kitchen to grab a trash bag and boxes. The tears finally fell down my face as I walked back to the room.

I started packing my clothes and gathering my other belongings. 'How can he treat his friend and I like this..? I understand AJ moved out randomly and took $300 of Ethan's manga with him, but to sell AJ's 3DS without telling him? And going to buy more "Magic the Gathering" cards with that cash instead of paying the overdue gas bill? Just childish. He wouldn't let me speak when I mentioned it wouldn't be smart or nice. This is a stupid way to break up.' I thought to myself, finally folding up the boxes closed and tying the garbage bag of clothes.

I walked back to the kitchen and started packing up the dishes my grandmother got me for the house as an early Christmas present. Silence filled the entire house until StanLee, Ethan's blue-tick hound, came running from the room towards the back door.

I smiled a little at him through the little window over the kitchen sink that looked to the extended porch, where the back door is. "Outside?" I said quietly, trying not to make myself cry from the lump in my throat. StanLee howled and started wagging his tail, jumping side to side. He motioned to the door and back at me a few times before I hooked him up by his harness to the lead that's tied through the garage to the patio.

I opened the door a crack and instantly he darted straight into the crack of the door, sniffing the cold air, his ears perking up. I giggled to myself and fully opened it, causing him to dart outside and start jumping in the fluffy snow.

As soon as the lead was fully extended, I closed the door again and let him have fun outside. I walked to the garage to grab the rest of my stuff. I grabbed parts of my Cavalier that Ethan's best friend, Dominic, totaled along with the plates for it. I let out a heavy sigh once again, 'why?' Is all I thought.

I got pulled out of my thoughts when I heard StanLee start howling outside. "SHIT!" I darted back into the porch and opened the back door, "StanLee! Get inside!" I quietly yelled. He gave me that look and turned back and started howling. I rolled my eyes and grabbed the lead, "get over here."

I finally got StanLee inside, tracking in snow, when I finally closed the door and let him off the lead. As soon as he was released he stormed to the bedroom once again, getting snow all over the bed.

Walking back towards the kitchen and living room, I stopped at the little hutch that had my graduation pictures and my diploma in it. I grabbed everything from my grad party and the diploma. 'This is ridiculous. I should probably text mom and tell her I'm moving back home.'

Grabbing my phone from my back pocket, I texted my mother.

Me: Hey, things aren't going great. I'm moving back home.
Mom: what? Why? What's going on?
Me: I can explain when I'm home. Can Tristan take the van and come up here to help me get my stuff this weekend?
Mom: I'm sure he can... what about work?
Me: I'll have to talk to Sue. She already knows it's been rocky with Ethan. I'll drive the 2 hours a day for work for 2 weeks.
Mom: you'll have to wake up at 4am! And then drive 2 hours! Are you sure you can do that?
Me: 🤷🏻‍♀️
Mom: You're stressing yourself out. Let me know if anything changes. Love you! See you soon.

I put my phone away and sighed. She's right. I work at 6:30am every morning as a baker. My moms is 2 hours south. In all reality I'll have to wake up at 3:30 and leave by 4. Then I'll be off at 4pm and have to drive 2 hours back. Maybe Sue will understand and let me just quit on the spot.

I heard my phone ding so I looked and it was my brother texting me.
Tristan: yo
Me: what's up?
Brother: mom says you need help moving this weekend.
Me: Yeah. Ethan and I broke up.
Brother: haha!
Me: 😕

With that, my brother left me on read. I rolled my eyes as I pulled all my things next to the front door, but off to the side. Now I just have the house to myself for 2 days and then have to move back home. Ethan's not going to be happy that I have to stay an extra 4 days though. Awkward...

This is my first real-life book that I'm writing. This is a longer story I feel like I need to write to kinda vent. It's my story, if you will (all texts start uncapitalized because I'm the only one in my family that's huge on grammar, that's how they text me)

Hope you guys enjoy this I guess 🥺
