"She is the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on. Even under that mask her emerald eyes glow enchanting my soul. Her wisdom is is beyond her years making me admire her even more. I know we just met but I must ask her to be my wife. I must give my people a queen whom shall lead with her heart and mind. One who wishes to end a unfair feud between our kingdoms. In return I shall give her people more wealth that my parents so greedily kept from my people. Our kingdoms will shine. I shall give her a child to rule with her grace and wisdom. I must ask her to be my wife. I must!" Shadow thought as he danced with the stunning pink hedgehog. The song ends and they bow to each other. "You are quite the dancer king shadow" Amy smiled as they walked over for some wine. "So are you Princess Amy" he smiled handing her a glass. She smiles taking the glass and sips the refreshing sweet alcohol. "May we speak alone?" He asked. "I don't think that be wise since I am not officially courted by you my king" "I understand" he smiled. "My god he's so mysterious. He's not like the rest and my heart yearns for him." Amy thought. "Please excuse me Princess I must speak with your father" he bows his head and walks away. Amy sighs seeing him disappear into the crowd. "I see you fallen in love my daughter" Violet said making Amy jump. "Mother don't frighten me like that" "I'm sorry my daughter but I was watching from afar and seen that spark in your eye. Have you fallen in love with the King?" She asked Amy whom blushes sipping the rest of her wine. "Yes mother.... But...." "But nothing if he were to ask for your hand tonight would you accept?" "Yes mother" "Good perhaps this treaty could be made through marriage then" the queen smiled and walks away leaving Amy in shock. "What?"

"You wish to what?" Rain asked as he and Shadow stood in his study. "I wish to be granted your blessing to wed your daughter. She is wise, kind, and truly cares about the future of both kingdoms. I will give her happiness, support and rule at her side. I will also bring both our people more wealth by giving the money my parents have kept away. I promise you my fellow king she shall have a man who adores her and cares for your people. That is if she will have me. If not I would still give my wealth to your people and make peace." Shadow said. "Very well you have my blessing" "thank you my king" Shadow bows and leaves the study.

The King and Princess spent the rest of the ball talking about the treaty and what their kingdoms will benefit from it. Shadow is amazed by how well Amy is of her peoples needs and how much change has come about from it. He knew deep down he chosen the right queen to rule beside and couldn't wait to ask for her hand. Unknown to them Sonic and Aeros started to feel envy crawling under their skin seeing how much time the princess is spending with her supposed enemy. Sonic snatched a glass from a passing noble and glares at them making them walk away as he drank the wine. "What does he have that I don't?" He thought. Aeros on the other side flips a gold coin between his fingers watching Amy smiling as she talked to the king. "What is he doing to charm her?!" He thought angrily. Both princes sneer at shadow both thinking the same thought.
