They were fighting. They were always fighting. He yelled, and she yelled back, rolling her eyes.

He called her immature and irresponsible. She said he was overdramatic and neglectful.

And to think that just ten minutes ago he was sitting beside her, his thumb caressing her soft cheeks, asking her how her day has been. Huh...

"Evelin, you can't just- you can't just go out and buy a damn ring that is that expensive like that. I'm working my fucking ass off all night and day, trying so hard to make our family live comfortably, trying so hard to keep a roof over our head, trying so hard to put food on the table, and you're here just buying the most useless things for some crazy sum of money?" Christopher yelled, turning in his spot and pacing around the cramped up space they called their living room. "Where even- where did you even get that amount of money from?"

The dark-haired woman huffed, bitterly. "You're not the only one working, Christopher. Stop trying to make me seem like the villain here! I'm also working all morning and afternoon, serving people who can't fucking appreciate my work! And I still do not earn what I deserve!"

She was ignoring his question. He stopped pacing around the room. "I'm not saying you don't work, Eve, but come on! You can't just go out spending money like that so carelessly when we are barely even paying the bills. And you did not answer my question. Where did you get the money from?" he questioned again, and she looked away, clearly avoiding eye contact. "Where did you get the money from, Evelin?" he asked once more, progressively losing his patience with every word.

"I found an envelope with money on our dressing table. I don't know what it was for, but I took it and went out. I figured I could treat myself since it's my break day, you know? Don't you always go out whenever you have break days?"

He froze. The envelope on the dressing table? That same envelope he placed on their dressing table before leaving for work? That same envelope he had kept his savings in for the past year?

"You- you used my savings? You used my savings to buy that damn ring you were so excited to show me? Are you serious right now? Are you fucking serious, Evelin?" He wasn't yelling anymore, but he was angry. He was furious. He was absolutely enraged. "You know that that money is used only in case of emergencies, but you still used it? And- since when do I go out by myself on my break days? Don't I always take you and Emily out to restaurants, amusement parks, aquariums...and I even take you shopping on my break days when I should be home, getting some rest. Does that not mean anything to you?"

Evelin's lips were parted. Her eyes were opened wide. She didn't know what to say. "I didn't say that, Christopher. And don't blame me for you sacrificing your rest for us. You took that decision yourself. And, how would I have known that envelope was for your- your savings? I-"
