A common mistake I see a lot, more then often is the simple use of "Your". In most fan-fictions or stories, if you look hard enough you'll be able to see the mistakes of "Your". The proper use of this is only to be used when talking about someone's or something's object. I will be showing some examples of "Your".
Dan looked sternly at Jon and said "Your gaming system is amazing, how much was it?"
Jon laughed and replied, "I suppose you are right, but not as amazing as your Playstation"
See, common uses of "your" change a sentence entirely. Next I will be showing you the common uses of "You're" and how this word changes a sentence's meaning. "You're" means "You are" if you didn't know this. People will mess up more then enough on this phrase.
Jon was playing basketball, when Dan saw his shot, he marveled "Wow Jon, you're a good shot!"
Now here is the same sentence.
Jon was playing basketball, when Dan saw his shot, he marveled "Wow Jon, you are a good shot!"
Which one is more relevant? I believe the first sentence is better and more common, compared to the second one I showed you. Next chapter will be on Tips & Advice for writing.
