"Are we done yet Poppy?" Freya asked her friend.
For hours the two have been training since the crack of dawn. Freya was tired. After the incident with her best friend almost dying, she tried motivating herself to train harder. Be a better Specialist. So in case it happens again, she would be prepared.
That motivation left the second she heard her alarm go off at 4:30 this morning.
"I guess we can take a 2 minute break." Poppy shrugged.
"Make it 30 please."
Poppy rolled her eyes. "30 seconds? Sure."
Freya sighed. Not that she wasn't ecstatic when she saw her friend alive again, but something was different about her. And no it's not the horrible sunburn she got from being in the sun for 10 minutes yesterday. It was something else.
"Kill me already." Freya groaned, taking a seat on the bench. Poppy sat next to her as she chugged half of her water. "So the real question is how's you and the fossil?"
Poppy sighed looking in the direction of her dad. Ever since he's taken over Silva's position as head of the Specialists, he's been more of a pain in the ass to everyone. Everyone except to Poppy. The girl didn't know why. Frankly the little memory she had with the man, he always favored Sky than her.
What changed?
Then her mom's words echoed in the brain.
The girl still hasn't told anyone about her newly founded powers. It's not like she didn't trust them or anything, but with everything going on, she was sure her twin's last thought was helping her with her new powers. He had other things to do. More like other things to do with someone else.
And Freya? Well as much as Poppy loved the girl, she was too busy doing her own thing. It's just better if people didn't know.
"More like what's going on with Sky and Dad." Poppy said as she saw her twin get angry about something their Dad said. Calling Andreas 'dad' was still foreign to the girl. But hey if she wanted to find out his plan with Rosalind, she needed to do this.
"You were always his favorite."
Poppy rolled her eyes. "Why? Because I have a vagina?"
Freya shrugged. "I'll have you know, being a woman is a powerful tool you gotta learn to use."
Poppy chuckled as she watched Sky and Dane spare. Everything was going great, Sky looked like he was about to win. That was until Dane, being the dick he was, slashed his sword on Sky's stomach.
The girl's eyes widened as she rushed over to his side. And that was how she was on her way to the infirmary with her twin, and ex-boyfriend.
