"Haven't seen you all day." Riven said to the girl.
Poppy nodded, putting away her jewelry before getting in bed with the boy. "Sorry. I've just been busy."
"Clearly."
"Hey don't be like this."
"Be like what?"
"I'm sorry ok. I've just been all over the place."
"A simple text saying that would be nice Poppy. I had to sit in the cafeteria, waiting for you to show up to realize you forgot."
"I know I'm the worst. I just..."
"Just what?"
Poppy shook her head. She wasn't ready to tell the boy her secret or her plan. "Nothing."
Riven sighed. "You know Poppy I'm getting tired of you lying to me."
"I'm not."
"You sure?"
Poppy sighed, cuddling closer to the boy's side. She hugged his tone, bare stomach, and wrapped her leg around him. "Babe, I know things have been crazy lately. And I'm sorry for not communicating with you." Riven nodded. The girl sighed, knowing he won't forgive her that easily. "We have an off day tomorrow. How about we go in town?"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
And what they thought would be a nice date in town turned into Riven canceling last minute for a last minute Specialists meeting. A meeting Poppy knew nothing of. Or Sky. Or Freya.
