{at a bar}
Rubbing the glasses clean , kai shifts his gaze to scan the customers as if looking for someone. With a disappointed sigh he turns back to work . He is expecting a special set of customers. The noble knights of the Imperial Family. His source of daily news from the higher society since he needs to filter his pawns out.
The Empire's higher society has been shaky ever since the assassination
Of the crown prince thirty years ago.
While cleaning the table, Kai's gaze falls to the fresh newspapers with the front page headline reading -

Kai lets out a light scoff , "are they just figuring that out now?" He says to himself. Before he can finish reading the rest of the article , someone interrupts him saying
"Are you just gonna stand there reading that or will you try to serve the customers"
Kai calmly puts down the paper to see who is this drunkard , oh? It's none other than the guy he was waiting for! The stupid dog of those nobles
"What would my dear customer would like to have this time"says kai

"Just give me the regular, won't ya"
"You seem to be alone today, oh did something happen at the palace"
" just pass me the bottle u damned commoner"
'Ah he's quite agitated and frustrated, something must've happened back at the mansion he patrols, what mansion was it again? Count Wilson's, was it?
Hmm..' kai thinks to himself
'I should get information out of him before it's too late'

"Here it is" kai hands him a small shot of their specialty vodka saying
"Since I saw how stressed you were , I made this for you to relax"
Flustered knight grabbed the drink without thinking.
Kai chuckles and thinks " how stupid can he be"

{15 minutes later}
"That's his third drink already, it's time"
Kai gets closer to the knight's face and says
"You still look a little stressed, are they making the knights train more these days"
He smiles lightly and grabs knights hand
"You won't even believe me if I told youghh-
Wow , this motherfucker is spitting on me' kai thinks while his smile turns into a bitter frown , he closes his eyes and lets out a light sigh .

" it's okay , I would believe you"
" do you the know count Wilson's 3rd son!? That rascal , he was given a duty to take care of the slums in the west, he was supposed to provide them food and water for a week"
"He was paid around 70 gold strigas....YOU hear me!? 70 golds!?.and damned son of a bitch pocketed 45 gold strigas and gave those people stale food and water? It never even reached them."
"And how is that affecting you knights?" Kai asks
"That bastard blamed all of the knights patrolling at those slums that we let the food rot, now my job is at line"
The knight slammed the table and started raging and crying.
Knights throwing drunken fits was nothing new to Kai.

Listening to the knight cry , kai thinks "well that's nothing new. If anything the slums have only increased in number since I died. But this intel is of no use to me. well, count Wilson's third son, was it?"
As kai starts to get up because his work here is done and go away
He overhears the knight talk about someone go missing
He could care less about it
But as soon as he heard the name
"ELVER GAITLIN"
He halted and rushed back to the knight without realising it and says "what did you say?"
Awkwardness filled the room. Every eye in the bar fixated on Kai and the knight.
Kai fixed his posture and asked the knight politely,
" were you perhaps talking about Elver... that Elver?"
The knight coughs and leans in and says
"Yes, Elver Gaitlin, that mysterious Elver."
The knight continues that elver has been in no contact with anyone at all but in past few weeks people see him every now and then, but he never responds upon calling and some have even witnessed him disappear in crowded places. it's like his soul is wandering around in this area. It's laughable really".
But it was no matter of joke to kai
He hesitates a bit but he brings his work smile out again , bows at them and gets back to his work.
"Elver Gaitlin, huh...." Mumbles Kai.
