Chapter 3

{continuing}
Kai wanted to get far away from that alley as soon as he could.
.
He could feel his Vampiric instincts surge up having witnessed a bloodied sight of a vicious murder.
{kai ran away on his way to the tavern}
.
As kai was on the last steps on the staircase of his room, his head was filled with hundred of questions..
"Just what kind of vampire would resort to such violence to get their blood fill....? I think I have one more thing that I need to look into..this might turn into something serious...."
"How many days has it been?.......since i had some blood?..
"It's been ...around 6 days, i should get my fill soon ...I am tired"says kai to himself as he struggles to maintain his balance.
[He pauses and catches his breath before going in]

Kai is greeted by Liam who is standing in the door way, with his arms crossed, like he had been waiting for him all this time.
Kai is taken aback
He did not expect him to wake up this early after drinking so heavily last night, in fact he made sure that he would be too hungover the next morning ...
so how...?
Kai had always been meticulous in his calculations when it came to Liam and Kai's secret nightly rendezvous.
Suddenly having caught off guard by Liam and witnessing a crime scene made him lose his footing.
.
"Where have you been all this time ?" Asks Liam, kai tries to get a hold of the situation and jokingly asks Liam about his hangover from last night all while looking down and taking his shoes off.
"I don't-......
As Liam tries to say something, kai is more focused on getting away from him and rushes to wash his face. He shuts the door to the restroom behind him.

Kai pours some cold water on his head and recollects all the bizarre events he has had to witness tonight and ponders his miscalculations regarding Liam. Though he doesn't see Liam as a threat, he figures he might have to be extra careful when it came to him.

Behind the door, in their shared room stands Liam, still in the same spot he greeted Kai in.
"Something is strange" Liam tells himself, "from the way he averted my gaze...To the way he walked ..something just didn't feel right about kai"
Liam decides to not to push it. He knocks on his bathroom door and says
"I had just gotten up to drink some water and didn't find you in your bed..anyway since you are here now, I am going back to sleep..there's still some time until my shift starts"
.
Kai chuckles.
He thinks this whole situation is funny.
Ever since his death as the crown prince and reincarnation as a commoner, this is the first time he has lost his composure, enough to almost reveal his identity as a vampire
"I wonder...if he saw.."
He splashes cold water on his face over and over again
"I think I should get my blood refill today.. my fangs refuse to go away.."

He goes back inside and checks on Liam
Liam is sitting up in his bed, reading a book. "I thought that you were going to sleep?" Says kai while standing in front of Liam, "I couldn't fall asleep so I thought I'd rather finish this book i started awhile ago."
Kai is relieved to see Liam behaving his usual self.
Liam then soon gets up and says he'll cook them a simple breakfast before they get ready for work.

"But I made sure he'd be too drunk to get up this early last night, and now there aren't even any traces of being hungover in him. Something isn't right here...."
