I have no faith in words,
No need to believe what
I am told to believe, just because I am told to.
I have seen what faith can do to those
Who are told they have it.
I am not a puppet to be controlled,
I will not stand up and kneel down
To say the words thousands of people have said before.
I am afraid of what will happen
If I choose to refuse.
I was never given a choice,
They say I can choose to follow,
I say no and I am called a heretic, I am evil.
What is evil? Is it not believing
What others believe?
I will be punished for my 'sins',
In a building I will find my salvation,
A building is just bricks and mortre, looming over.
My faith is in the earth and air,
I believe in the beauty of what is
Around me. I don't need to know why it is there.
