⚠️The tense often switches. I've made many mistakes, mainly this story switching from past to present tense repeatedly. I'm sorry. Xx⚠️

I awoke in a dark room, weary and uncertain. My mind was blank. My knees were trembling and I was shivering intensely. I'm exhausted. I uncurled myself from my little ball and began to stand up. As I got up from the stone cold floor the warmth of the air made me feel light headed. I looked around the room curious of where I was since I couldn't remember anything that happened, an intense rush of fear circled me as I thought of possible reasons that I may be in this unfamiliar situation.

I looked around the room. The thick windows were behind many layers of skinny bars and you could only barely see through them. The dark grey walls looked like young kids had tried to scribble on it with orange crayons, but the crayons just melted from the strong warmth of the walls. The floor looked like it was made of coloured concrete, white and grey checkered, and had small black dots that looked like a failed attempt of a marble effect. In general, the whole room felt as if you were trapped in a large concrete box. The room was quite warm, but there was one spot right in the centre that was really chilly. That's when I noticed the door. It was dark oak with a bulky black metal hinge that led to 2 metal triangles on the sides and it must have been at least 5 inches thick.

I looked at my clothes, orange and black. Some tatty black cargo trousers and a strange oversized top - which was orange. They looked strange, not like a cute tiger orange, or a pastel flower, or a cute bear in a childrens book, a dark and scarce orange, a more mustard orange, but one that looked more similar to black than yellow. My heart skipped a beat as it hit me, I could be anywhere, with anyone?! Had my biggest nightmare come to life? That wasn't gonna stop me. I was going to investigate. I was going to escape. Although I didn't know how yet...
