I groan, flicking my soaked hair in disgust. I forgot an umbrella, and now it's raining! I cross my arms, frustrated. "Er..miss, are you okay?" someone asks me. I turn around. A guy's standing behind me, a kind smile on his face. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just forgot an umbrella." I tell him. "D'you want mine?" he asks me. I huff. "Sure. But why should I? I don't even know your name!" I say, frowning. "Hero. My name's Hero." he says. I smile. My high-school sweetheart was called Hero. "Well then, Hero, you're really living up to your name!" I laugh. He blushes slightly. "T-thanks." he says, smiling. "I'm Mari, by the way!" I say. "I live a few blocks away. The house with the tan walls." I smile at him. He returns the smile, somewhat awkwardly. "Well, I live next door." he says, rubbing the back of his neck. "We could walk together?" he suggests. I nod. We walk in a comforting silence until we pass my house. "Oh, this is my house! See you, Hero!" I call, jogging up to the door. He waves, walking in the direction of his house. I feel myself blush. "Looks like someone got a crush." Aubrey says. "Hey!" I shout, annoyed. "So, who's the lucky person?" she asks. "Aubs, just because you're like my sister, that doesn't mean I have to tell you everything. But his name's Hero." I say. "Wow. I'm guessing he was your hero tonight?" she smirks. "Oh shut up, Aubergine." I retort. "How about you do, Marisa." Aubrey counters. "Ugh, fine!" I say, defeated. I tell her about Hero, who, as Aubrey had said, truly was a hero to me.
