They had been on their way to Winterfell for nearly a month to appoint Lord Stark as their hand. Gerold looked back and saw the king and the rest of the party. It seemed as if the entire court of Red Keep was going north with them. The same thing happened every day since they passed Moat Collin.

The Crown Prince, Joffrey Baratheon, began to complain about why he had to go to the chilly place and that they gave the North too much power and that his grandfather was a much better choice. The King, as always, reacted furiously to his son by replying that Ned had ensured that he sat on the Iron Throne and that he was his only friend who was still alive.
After that discussion, Robert would begin to complain about Queen's carriage causing it to run so slowly.

Gerold was worried about the future of Westeros, for no one in the kingdoms was ready to become a spoiled, arrogant and narcissistic king after they first dethroned the Mad King for a drunk and king who passed his time fucking all the women and playing tournaments. to keep. Gerold looked behind him and saw Myrcella standing behind him. Gerold turned his horse, Star, and got off and said, No it's not that bad now. I'm just trying to figure out why your father doesn't send a letter and appoint Lord Stark as Hand. There must be something else why he went to Winterfell himself.
Myrcella nodded her head and said, I think he wants to make his dream come true so that they really share blood. He wants to have a marriage between the Starks and the Baratheons Of King's Landing.
He nodded and said, Then there are several options. Either it's you who marries a Stark and becomes a Lady of the North. Or one the Starks marry your older brother. If that happens, I'll be the first to say my deepest condolences to the Lord and Lady Stark
Gerold, Myrcella hissed, you're almost committing treason by ill-speaking of the prince!

The knight shrugged and said I speak the truth. Everyone in King's Landing knows what an arrogant spoiled brat he is and how he treats his subjects and even his younger brother and sister. Myrcella looked sadly at her faithful friend and nodded. You're right, Gerold. I remember him cutting open one of Tommen's cats to see what it looks like inside. Or that he had destroyed my garden with my flowers. Or threatened to marry me off to Lord Frey if he was king. 

Myrcella decided to change the subject and put her problem with Joffrey behind her. How was it there In Starfall and Sunspear, Is everything all right  with your mother, aunt and Prince Doran?
Gerold nodded and said Everything is fine with them. Ally has become a beautiful lady and I think many Lords will ask for her hand. Mother was very proud of me and said I was almost as good as Uncle Arthur. Doran still suffers from severe gout, but he is still healthy. His younger brother, Oberyn, now tries to help a little more with rulling Dorne.
Gerold wanted to continue until he heard shouts from the king. Everyone ready, we leave in one hour.
Both sighed. Myrcella because she had to get into the carriage with her mother and brothers and would soon have to hear complaints about the cold all the time, while she actually preferred to drive around with Gerold and talk about all kinds of things. Gerold because he would soon hear stories about Robert's wars and adventures in the Vale with his Stark man.

The next day Gerold was sent in front to see how far it was until Winterfell. He nodded approvingly and thought we're almost there for a few more hours and we're with Lord Stark.
He turned his Dornish sandstone, Star, over and decided to warn the king.
He rode past some Lannister knights who looked at him mockingly. He didn't have to look far for Robert Baratheon, as he was, as always, at the queen's carriage, complaining  about the pace of travel. Your Graces, I've come to report that we are nearing Winterfell.
Robert laughed and bellowed. Finally, Joffrey get out of that damn carriage and jump on your horse and show you're the crown prince and not some boy hiding behind his mother's dress.
The Dornishman had to laugh under his breath Joffrey and horseback riding don't mix.
For a few moments the Crown Prince came out, with a red face and an arrogant look. Ours is the fury  is an appropriate motto for this moment thought Gerold.

After a long wailing from Joffrey, Robert Kingslayer called out, you ride in first followed by my son and his Dog, then me and finally that damn carriage and Dayne. As soon as he drove in, he saw the entire Stark family and their staff kneeling and looking in amazement at the king and his weight. Then he decided to look further and saw all the children lined up from smallest to largest. You could clearly see that they had Tully  blood and the only one where  it didn't rule  the youngest girl. The whole time she watched the knights coming in behind Gerold. He stopped Star and gave her to a groomsman and opened the door of the Queens carriage. Thank you, Ser Dayne answered the queen. Thank you Gerold. her children said. Gerold then saw the oldest Stark girl blush when Prince pain in the ass looked at her. Gerold already began to plead to the Gods, Please save this poor naif girl. To his astonishment, he found that the heir looked angrily at Joffrey and that Pain in the ass stopped staring at his younger sister. He needs to hide his true feeling if he wanted to become a good Lord. He decided to stay in the background until . The king called Ned, take me to the crypts, I want to give my respect to her. Cersie tried to wait for him by saying, My love, we've been on the road for a month... Robert bellowed Ned. Lord Stark gave the Queen a look I'm sorry.  The Queen tried to move over her embarrasment by asking Lady Stark for to bring them to their rooms so that they could rest.  Things could get pleasant in this cold place.
